Nobody wants rojo it’s just a panic loan because they messed up the Zouma buy and Chelsea won’t loan us tomori. Hopefully we buy someone decent in January

Right at this moment I would call it average, simply because I don't think we're coming out of it any better than we went in. The squad is stronger in some areas but weaker in others, and we haven't addressed 2 of the positions I would have said were key at the start of the summer. I'm relatively confident we'll sort that today, but if we're talking about the window closing right now I don't think it would be good.

14 outs looks great in theory, but when you break it down it's not really. A handful of people released at the end of their contracts as always, some loans as always, and last season's players player of the year sold. Lookman and Vlasic can be seen either way really, I won't shed a tear at their departures, but they would hardly have been top of most fans sales wishlist. The only deadwood that we've sold so far is McCarthy. Most of the players we actually need to get rid of are still here.

I realise that sounds really negative but i'm just trying to be balanced. I think there's a tendency to make out everything Brands does is miraculous and that everything is going amazingly well. This summer (so far) has only been OK in my eyes, not massively impressive. I do think that my opinion may change though.
Finally a voice of sanity and reason.

No one has given any clear descriptive/analytical reason why this window as been better than average yet 000's are singing.

Yeah we’re just missing a chav from Fulham, or a Dutch kid who the top Dutch clubs don’t want, to fire us to the top of the league

I agree, good point, That could be worth a few points BUT no one has given an explanation as to how we are not weakened considerably by losing our best centre half and excellent holding mid - I think Gueye's ability to protect our weak central defence last year is massively unestimated by our fans.

As for the centre half, we brought Zouma in as it was expected Mina would take time to settle. He’s been here a year now, so really should be pushing on this season as first choice. Keane and Mina will start the season and should be decent.

Gana was great at what he did, but he’s far from irreplaceable, especially if we can bring in a player who can offer a bit more in other areas.

Of all the man United cast offs. I would take Rojo. Its not very exciting, but he would do a decent job.
He will probably be coming in on a loan as back up to Keane and Minna, with Holgate there as well and Gibson possibly getting some minutes here and there and moreso at the end of the season.
