Assuming this is down to cost, it’s exactly why I’m not believing these Zaha rumours. With a rumoured wage of 200k a week and anything between 65-100 million in fee, it’ll more than likely be an even more expensive deal than the Pepe one.

Just doesn’t seem plausible to me.

The figure of “£100m” is only if you actually assume losing McCarthy and Tosun equates to us losing £30m+ of value from the squad.

I've met Esk a number of times and he's a lovely bloke with a genuine love for the club, but some of his transfer predictions have been stinkers.

Not sure we'll hear anything about that until January even if it is done. It's not like he can fly over for a medical and then go straight back and any confirmed interest from us will only stir the pot for others.

...appears all the detail is coming out of Brazil, so it might be hard to keep a lid on it, especially if a deal is completed.
