I read the article where he talked about not being part of David Moyes plans after SAF left Utd, and how the Everton connection might affect his thinking. I'm still on the fence anyway.
That situation is easily resolved. It just needs to be explained to him that Everton are not Manchester United, and that Marco Silva is not David Moyes. 2 different clubs and 2 different managers. You’d hope he would realize that when he visits the Everton training ground, and when he sees that Marco Silva looks and sounds different to David Moyes.

Also it can be pointed out to him that all that happened in 2013 and it’s now 2019. I’m sure he’d be able to work all that out on his own.

I personally don’t think this deal will happen. For many reasons: too much money, we’re in the wrong area of the country, we’re not in Europe, he’s irreplaceable to Palace etc etc etc.

But to think that it wouldn’t happen because 6 years ago a manager who used to manage Everton wouldn’t play him for man united would be a bit mental.

would like some resolution on this asap, times ticking now, no more messing, shat or get off the pot

I'm only relaying what he said. Don't shoot the messenger.

No way this is over btw.

Still reckon he’ll be an Everton player.
This.

Two things:

- Everton have to be careful after the Watford debacle over Silva to not be seen to be placing undue pressure on a club and not accepting their answer to requests for talent.

- The club needed to disentangle McCarthy and Tosun from being seen as makewights in a deal as it will see their value drop when we eventually do look to offload them.

A deal will be done here for circa £60M and with better payment structure as far as Palace are concerned.

I just don’t see us bidding once and then walking away having made it public.

I reckon you are right. 60m up front kinda thing.

Haven't we made it public that we won't be making another bid? I know that doesn't mean anything, but we go back with another bid, Palace see we're desperate to sign him, they dig their heels in and try and fleece us for every penny.

The more you read about the lad the more he comes across as not being that type of player.
Oh yeah, he seems like a really good character from everything I read but he can do these things behind closed doors. If a player doesn’t want to be there anymore it’s in their interest to get a massive fee for them before they inevitably leave
