Keane and Digne were very good in defense. Any midfield combination of Davies/Schneiderlin/Gomes is going to be very open.

The attacking midfielders were a bit anonymous. Broadhead was probably the best.

Drop Gueye, Richarlison and Mina into that team and it's pretty good. Add a striker who gets goals and it's real good. A little low on depth but a strong matchday squad when healthy.

Is it ok to say enjoyed that ,enjoyed a win against a decent side with a very decent manager and the players looked sharp few more signings and richarlison gueye Mina Delph back in and it’s looking good

Lots of good stuff. Digne would have ripped a hole in the net if he'd been a couple of inches to the left.

Still concerning that the only goal came off a ball from the Random Football Movement Generator, and he almost killed our fullback in the process, but whatevs.

Decent run out, some good passages of play put together, clear that the players know the system (by contrast with last summer). Monaco looked a bit less fit than us, and it showed towards the end.

Some thoughts:

- Digne, Keane, Coleman, Sigurdsson (in that order) looking back on it already; clear starters.

- Schneiderlin and Walcott probably also hitting their own heights already too; clear subs.

- Bernard and Gomes have room for improvement as they get a bit fitter. Thought they did OK.

- Niasse is sadly not the answer.

- Gibson and Broadhead look promising but clearly not ready in my opinion.

- Why is Stek a brick wall for pennos but a hologram for literally everything else?

- Heeeeeee's Brazilian.

+1 to all of this.
