Groundshare

What do you reckon of that politician of yours kicking up a fuss at the moment about the diplomats all being ex KBG?

I'll give him six more months on this earth.

To be fair he has a point...
He's the Bulgarian equivallent of Chuck Norris btw, with the jokes and all. Funny stuff. So in the spirit of that - he'll kick them all about just before lunch time.

Being serious - he's probably corrupted in some way too. A police officer/personal bodyguard of the president or something who rose up to be chief secretary of the ministry of the interior, then the mayor of Sofia, then became a prime minister... Yeah, sure, that happens a lot, seriously. Especially all in the period of a year or two... Amazing.

OFF WITH ALL THEIR HEADS I SAY!

And to keep on topic : It's not a good idea, that groundshare thing.

Whoever thought the above was a good idea needs shooting.

As for the groundshare, no, never. As has been said earlier in this thread, it'd be THEIR stadium, no matter what happens. That's the way it works with those c*nts. They'd consider us a charity case even if we 50/50'd it.

So no, I'd rather be sat in Goodison 50 years from now than groundshare with the [Poor language removed], no matter how much sense it makes financially.

Technology exists today that would permit it to be blue when we play and red when they play. Visually, the stadium could be easily made to be 100% us and than 100% them without much effort on the changeover. This is true for both inside and out. The seats, however, would have to be in some neutral color.

I'm not saying a groundshare would be a good idea. Its just that if it did happen, it could, and should, be set up this way.

Also, would anyone be interested in said shared stadium having a retractable dome? Would this increase revenue/attendance by having an elements-free environment for the harsher days, but and open air stadium for fair weather days. Or would supporters rather cut off their left arm than watch a match under a dome?

IT makes financial sense on so many levels. Pooling resources, one build, one lots of improvements, one set of transport upgrades, one stadium to request funding from whatever sources we can approach.

It also makes good environmental sense.

Unfortunately, it doesn't make cultural sense. Its a bit daft on that level, but there you go. It won't work.

Personally, I don't want a new stadium anymore, anyway, even if that means nobody buys us. I like Goodison Park.

Anyone who has been to Wembley (or Old Trafford or Emirates) can vouch for the sterile, silent atmospheres. And also for the price of the tickets.

Goodison for all its restricted views is a FOOTBALL GROUND, not a place to have 7 courses of michelin star food, a few complimentary glasses of champagne, network with Williams from Marketing before making a business deal in the media lounge (the football going on in the background somewhere, half the posh seats empty).

[Poor language removed] that.

Its loud, smelly, crowded, crampt, passionate, and intimate. The football is in front of you, the players aren't ants crawling under a microscope from your seat 2,000 feet above cloud cover. Its our home. Its redolent with footballing history and culture from the church in the corner to the wooden seats, to the multi tiers and the first underheated pitch. The first ground to be visited by a reigning monarch. Pele played on that pitch, Eusebio scored a hat trick on that pitch, Dixie Dean played on that pitch.

It was made and designed for football.

All modern stadiums are purpose built BUT they are not purpose built for football, but to make money.

I'd rather watch Everton in our spiritual home than sell our heritage down the river in pursuit of some dubious capitalist dream.

If we do decide on a joint stadium I intend to use Everton Claims to sue for distress. Where's there's blame there's a claim.

No. Just No.

And without reading any replies - to whoever inevitably cited an American stadium - no, it's not the same and whoever cited the San Siro - no, it doesn't work over there - both AC and Inter are desperately looking to escape that situation.

Agree. The media - Radio City - keep wrongly using the San Siro example.

I've sent texts emails and everything telling them NOT to use that example.

Because Inter want their own PURPOSE BUILT STADIA to TRIPLE revenue !

They want something purpose built to THEIR fan base needs.

Just like Everton do.

The problem is that both sets of fans face different transport problems. Everton fans will be confronted by congestion on, say Queens Drive or Walton Hall Avenue. Liverpool fans have to cope with delays at Heathrow, the M25 or Bergen ferry port before running the gaunlet of the two aforementioned thoroughfares.

Rapid transit is the answer!

There is a lot of corruption and mafia though isn't there, and these essentially over lap with the politics.

My good mate Ivo is from Varna, known him for years and he's told me loads of boss stories. He actually preferred pre 1989 and from what he's told me I can't blame him.
