Everton want to sign right-back this summer, Marco Silva confirms
Everton want to give Seamus Coleman competition for his place after Jonjoe Kenny's departure to Stoke on loan

Everton want to sign a right-back this summer, Marco Silva has confirmed.
The Blues need competition for first choice Seamus Coleman after sanctioning Jonjoe Kenny’s season-long loan move to Schalke.
Silva started with Kevin Mirallas at right-back in Sunday’s friendly with FC Sion in Sunday before Coleman came on to replace the injured Joe Williams.
And Silva has confirmed that the club are hoping to recruit a new full-back before the August 8 deadline.

He told the ECHO: “In this moment, and since Jonjoe went on loan to Schalke, it has been a position we want strengthen.
“You cannot go through a tough competition like the Premier League with just Seamus Coleman.
“We are really, really happy with Seamus, he finished last season on a very good level but, of course, we have to sign a right-back also."

Stoke? They suck, they suck so so bad at that paper. Why do i constantly see terrible mistakes like these on their and BBC's websites? Who are they hiring that can't write the simplest things that proof readers also miss.

Didn't even notice that.

Do they do the same amount of errors with the RS?

Anyone think with Trippier joining Atlético and them already having Vrsaljko, we might go in for that Santiago Arias that we were linked with earlier in the window?

That's just not very smart is it? Players should be doing preseason with the team, they should be getting them in early. There should be someone doing the deals behind the scenes, the season before and getting them in when the transfer window opens. I feel like I'm stating the obvious.

ideally yes, but tbf, getting in No.1 targets who will give us a years of great service but miss the first couple of games of the season gelling in, is much more preferable than buying backup options jus so they can be fit for the first couple of games. It's too short sighted to say we need all signings in for pre-season, doesn't matter how good they are. I know you're not saying that btw.
