This is what I don’t get , saying we were better with DLC runniny the channels and our good run of form. Yes ... that’s correct , we did look better when he started playing there and we won some good games. He wasn’t the only change tho, richy moved to RW and which meant Walcott wasn’t missing sitters, taking shots from passing and crossing positions and having a shocking relationship with Coleman , Bernard could actually play and that brought out the beat in Digne so although DLC playing did have a part to play there were 3-4 changes that happened at the same time. Now imagine we had a striker that runs, which is pretty easy to find , I mean that’s the kind of striker we have had for us for 90% of the time since 1992 and try to imagine this striker can actually carry a goal threat and score. I’m not saying 20 league goals a season I mean like 15 ish even 13,
DCL will score more this season I reckon, as in his goal to minute ratio will be higher, likely to get less game time

I’m agreeing with @Eggs in that the pool is to small and I prefer to see a bit of pedigree for 40m or whatever they want. He was released a year and a half ago and signed for nothing and plays the equivalent of 11 games this season and is worth 40m? Sandro has shown what can happen if you sign a one season wonder and his sample pool was larger and should have been more reliable . Just imagine paying 40m for sandro
A few of things: we probably can't get a striker with pedigree. They just arent out their at our level. There are other numbers, if you believe in that sort of thing, that show him as a way better net than Sandro. And lastly he was released he just ran his contract down and left. 40m is a lot but him and Kean are probably the best non Jovic young strikers available.

He wasn't released for nothing. He left Sporting because of the supporters attacking the players. He was so dominant in a handful of U19 and then Sporting II appearances, he moved up to the big club. Man City was after him as was Dortmund and Juventus.

He also just turned 20 in June. He scored 8 goals in 1349 minutes in the league. That's better than a goal every 180 minutes. His shots on target rate was over 60%. That's insane. The boy can finish.

He's not perfect in the air, yet. Statistically he's as good as DCL, but the leagues are different. He's much better on the ball, that's for sure. He can press, too. Can he lead the line at age 20 in the PL? He's still raw and he's going to get pushed around a bit. But there's just no comparison in terms of talent.

He has literally NOTHING in common with Sandro Ramirez. Him and Kean are both crazy talents. I'm still not sure which I like better. Think I'm leaning more towards Leao. Both could be world class and are already good.

Yeah I can understand the worry about spending that much on a relatively unproven player but as I said he's as good a young talent as there is. I go for Leao for now too.

See that’s where your argument falls down on me, I think DLC isnt good enough

I’m still recovering from our last one season wonder in sandro tbh. I think 40m is to much of a gamble . The risk vs reward doesn’t add up for me .

Hearing that we are in for Leao from Lille now that we’ve offloaded lookman.

Not sure about this one.... seems very young and untested.
