@Mikey_Fitzgerald in the Gana thread @Stephenlloyd summarised everything quite perfectly.

Your general tone was rather rude and continues to be quite similar to the complaints you were making against other posters regarding your desire to sign Andy Carroll.

For some peculiar reason youve taken a condescending tone (or it could just be the way youre coming across to me) as per the quoted posts above...

@gaino92 ive said today that Gana is a quality player. However the financial side means its got to be a sale at the prices quoted €40-45mil.

So im not sure what the reasoning behind the players player of the years comment is?

For me, its common sense to sell for financial reasons + to see a change in playing style.

Going back to my homecooked meal now...chicken adobo and spring rolls.

Yeah, I found it rather confusing how someone can be saying let's sign bakayoko and andy carrol. Then start trying to be condescending to fellow posters:Blink:

I don't think the problem is that they become bad players, the problem is their resale value falls off a cliff.

Like it or not we are a club where the resale value of our players is important.

I agree with this. In the sense that there probably can’t be a situation were multiple key players are getting over 30 when you are still in a rebuilding process. If you have unlimited funds or your team is at it’s peak it’s probably fine to have these players onboard on not think about re-sale value.

The problem is that funds aren’t unlimited and a re-build process is 1 year into, what is probably, a 3 year process. How many players like Gana and Sigurdsson can you have during this period, with their transfer value dropping with every season? The answer may be that both are needed and it’s a hit that’s taken. The other scenraio is that the resources that pay their high wages and their prospective transfer fee to invest in younger alternatives on lower wages.

There is risk in both scenarios. There’s potential gains in both paths forward. There are other ways to go to. The issue with those is that they involve the likes of Mirallas being sold. It’s all a bit of a balancing act for the manager and Brands. One that I don’t envy them for having to conquer. They both did well last season and you think if they get this summer right then 7th and maybe a push at 6th may be achievable. They are doing things, transfer wise, with one arm tied behind their backs though. Paying for the mistakes of the managers and sporting directors that came before them.

It's a hard job that both Brands and Silva have got to make this current squad into one that can contend for European qualification

Yes we have deep ties to Real Madrid, Dortmund and Atletico's transfer business don't we.

Yep so not just somewhere then? specifically we need the clubs player we chasing to make a signing to cover the one we want... or lay down the cash to meet the valuation.. its all easier said than done. We can always be the catalyst to the domino... I admit I feel we should be further along than we are. Perhaps the AFCON has delayed our pursuit till its done and dusted.

You are sadly very wrong here Zat.

I've referenced this article and the first interview he gave with the echo. Gana fits in the system well and so does Sigurdsson. Gana is more versatile, but I think he's best with a proper 6 to free him up to wreck havoc. Schneiderlin is our best, but he's overpaid and not great. Would live to replace him.

'whether the weather is hot, whether the weather is cold.

Is that a tear in your I? He will replace Gueye'

This is very concerning as it's very clear to me what he means.

Bakayoko would be amazing, he was absolutely brilliant in a terrible situation at Milan, but don't think that's happening. He made Kessie look pedestrian.
