We will regret not going for Tierney. No point whatsoever re signing Baines who’s past it and will hardly play. He’s not exactly going to push baines is he then next summer when he goes ( or re signs knowing us ) we are back to square one looking for a left back

We should be going for young players who can push out first teamers not continuing to re sign oldies

You’re joking? No way he is better than Digne. Why do we need a £20m back-up lb what for?

My eyes are burning from reading this.
 

It would be great if we could get Gomes & Zouma in, another two in addition, and then utilise the loan market again.

Loans have always worked consistently well for us, both in terms of turning perhaps unrealistic signings into achievable ones, and bridging the financial gap between what we can afford and what we need in the here and now.

It's also much less competition for us and we have proven form in this market to entice players.

I hope it remains part of our strategy, once we get them in, we'll have the upper hand in convincing them to stay if all works well.
