He is charged with failing to provide a roadside breath test without reasonable excuse.
The ex-Reds frontman is also charged with failing to provide a breathalyzer test at Blacon Police Station.
The trial will be heard before District Judge Nicholas Sanders.
Saunders will be represented by Conor Johnstone of MAJ Law.
The trial will take place on August 28 this year at Chester Magistrates Court.
Saunders was placed on unconditional bail until that date.
At the conclusion of the hearing, DJ Sanders told Saunders that, if convicted after a trial, the starting point for sentencing for such offences would be custody.
