They were all crap in the first half though, So can't hold that against our leading goal scorer

If you said to any of Richarlison, Walcott, Davies, Calvert Lewin ‘don’t do anything all game, your only job is to anticipate loose balls int he box and get on the end of them, hit speculative worldie a whenever you want, and you’ll take all pens’ I’m sure any of them would probably be our top scorer. The entire team is built around him and let’s be honest without the three penalties it’s not a great return from a player who is solely in the team for goals.

Come on, Gylfi was excellent today. He didn't turn the ball over much, which was a welcome change from Newcastle, and made several key passes. His set piece delivery was excellent - DCL could've scored earlier - and his defensive contributions were quite good. It's just tough to have both Gomes and Sigurdsson out there in the same side. Sooooo slow. But at least Siggy makes a couple tackles, occasionally picks off a pass or two.

It will be nice next year when we move out more of the dross and get another CM/DM that can not just transition into offense like Gomes can, but can provide some defensive support alongside Gana. Imagine being able to actually play Silva's counter game with twin CM/DMs sitting behind Sigurdsson sitting a bit deeper feeding our wide players. It would be lovely.

That’s because he never got possession of it in the first 45 mins.

He really wasn't.

He was good on set piece deliveries. He missed a penalty and got lucky it fell nicely for the rebound. Outfield, save for the Walcott pass and some tracking back, he really struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. He worked hard, but he consistently fails to get on the ball and push forward in the same way effective number 10s do, because he has no pace or agility.

Seemingly couldn't get anywhere near the ball in the first half...

He was boss in the second though.

Richarlison took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half and Sigurdsson, as he does, reacted to the team as a whole playing well.

Again, he didn't make the play - he simply enhanced it.

He's a fair weather luxury player. I just don't see him as part of our eleven if we want to break into European spots as he brings no consistency.

I like Sig and wouldn't mind if we kept him but it's hard to disagree with this, He's an absolute waste of space if he's not feeling it because he doesn't bring anything and he plays a semi important role for the team.
