Obviously, i'd be embarrassed for anyone who thinks otherwise, Roders managed 3 Premier League sides with a win % of 41.94, 44.79 and 50. Compared to 36.4, 30.8, 37.5

Guess we find out next season.

Im almost certain Silva will finish above teethy white.

50% win percentage at Liverpool with a peak Sewerz.

Im embarrassed that you have allowed a few trinkets in the buckfast league shadow your judgement. I would cry if we had Rodgers in charge.

In your opinion.

Granted.

I’m curious though, on what basis, would you argue that Silva is the better of the two?

For me, the relegation of Hull and the consecutive capitulations of Watford and now Everton under his guidance, with extensive spending under the latter, mean he can’t be ranked alongside someone like Rodgers, let alone ahead of.

Win % holds less stock for me @4737carlin for obvious reasons. However, if you completely disregard his record breaking ‘achievements’ at Celtic (you’d have to do the same for Silva at Olympiakos, I assume) he also took that lot closer to the title than any other manager in 30 years, all with the likes of Toure, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Mignolet and Joe Allen starting.

Same as the Benitez shouts, he’s not necessarily someone i’d want here because of his prior affiliation. But he’s a good manager and i’d wager he’ll make a good fist of it at Leicester over the next few years.

I think it's mad that people want him to have 18 players of his own. He brought in more than half a team in the summer and we're still rank.

So the actual permanent signings were Richarlison Digne Mina and a free in bernard.

2 loans in gomes and Zouma.

And all of those positions needed filling + we still need 5 or 6 to be filled with better players.

Its hardly his fault we have so many poor players and he and brands need to revamp the squad.

I just dislike him and honestly dont rate him.

I mean whether hes better than Silva im not sure, Silva isnt really a good manager either. Its very hard to make a case for him currently, hes got some very big games to build some currency.

Just if given the choice I would honestly pick Silva, of course its a personal choice, not based on anything football related, but im pretty sure Silva will finish above Rodgers next season.

I will be shocked if Rodgers even lasts till May.

Next season Vardy wont be saving them anymore.

So it’s predominantly based on your dislike for him personally and not because of any credible football-based argument at all.

That’s fair, at least you can admit that. Many can’t. The question wasn’t “Which would you rather have manage Everton?” Or “Would you swap Silva for Rodgers?” because I honestly wouldn’t choose him for us either.

It was just a flat question based on their abilities. I don’t think that Silva will be here next year, to be honest but i hope you’re right. If we finish above Leicester next year, we’ll get 7th, which was our aim this year.

They are both quite similar. Predictable styles of play with bad defenses. They are part of the “exciting” breed of managers that includes Roberto Martinez. You could probably add Howe, as his side often leaks goals as well, while getting praised for their style of play.

For me a great manager has to be able to build a side (though this is becoming less and less common). Neither Rodgers or Silva have been able to do that. When Dalglish signing Suarez left Rodgers ran Liverpool into the ground (with hilarious results). Silva won’t get that chance due to Brands, but he is certainly underperforming in his only role, which is putting out a winning side.

I wonder if we would be better off not taking loans? At best you get a short term boost, while another team’s player becomes more valuable.

Loan players lack commitment in my opinion, and if we buy our own players then we make all the profit when we sell them.

there is zero argument.

rodger is crap , silva is uber turbo gash

I would guess that of the 41% who vote for him to stay, an unknown proportion mean for him to stay for the present time, i.e. until May, as opposed to for another year or two. I suspect that very few want us to do a Fulham or a Leicester and sack our manager here and now.

I’d guess a lot of the 41% voted a good while ago and not changed it.

I'd replace him in the summer tbh.

But yes I agree. There's no point whatsoever changing right now. We aren't in any danger.
