Funny how we treat managers and players differently.

If we signed a striker from Watford who had a poor scoring record in this league and has only ever scored regulary in the Greek and Portuguese 2nd division we would be demanding a 1st choice replacement in the summer if said player put in the number of poor performances as Silva has this season.

Yet because he's manager its "he needs another season".

My question is whats the difference? Surely the PL being too much of a step up for certain players (Tosun) is equally as valid for managers?

I guess a manager is responsible for getting an entire unit, team, squad working in harmony while inheriting players that don't fit his tactics. A player generally has responsibility for his own performance on the field.

id be very surprised by anything other than a heavy defeat.

them ,lot have got so so much riding on this result, esp if city win or they lose … the rs need a victory , this may be their best chance in years for the league.

on the other hand, our team have got nothing to play for and aren't expected to win.

it doesn't automatically mean they will beat us but it will be a long shot.

Difference is Richarlison has been one of our best players this season and has scored more than most wingers in the league.

If he was sat here with only 2 goals 0 assists to his name many would be calling for a replacement in the summer.

I just find it odd how the concept of the PL being too big a step up for some managers gets lost on many whereas its universaly accepted by most fans of PL clubs that this league can be too big a step up for some players from abroad/the lower leagues.

There was some real promise in that team performance during the Anfield derby easily forgotten due to the last minute calamity. That dented confidence severely. I am holding final judgement to see if we return to more performances like that before the season ends
