The start is a Myth.

Up until the Derby we drew with Wolves, Bournemouth, Huddersfield and Chelsea.

We won against Southampton, Fulham, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Cardiff.

Lost to West Ham, Arsenal, Man Ure and them lot.

Even after the derby we drew with Newscatle and Watford before being beat by City and Spurs before beating Burnley and losing to Brighton. It has continued pretty much as before! Pretty much the same consistency as before! I think some on here are starting to believe the rubbish the club want us to believe......

At the start of the season we played some good stuff without much reward. West Ham game we were dreadful, and v Arsenal we were unfortunate.

If you take our first 9 lg games (a third of the season)

Wolves (A) - 2-2 (with 10 men for an hour, unlucky not to win)
S'ton (H) - 2-1
B'mouth (A) - 2-2
Huddersfield (H) - 1-1
West Ham (H) - 1-3
Arsenal (A) - 0-2
Fulham (H) - 3-0
Leicester (A) - 2-1
Palace (H) - 2-1

Overall, decent. We'd started to hit our stride with three successive wins by the time the team had settled (the team having had to go from playing under Allardyce to playing a completely different way, while three players who were brought in to play Silva's way weren't even fit).

Next, the middle. By the derby, due to those three wins above and some decent performances, we were in 6th. Stop with rubbish comments that we weren't playing well, we were.

Man Utd (A) - 1-2
Brighton (H) - 3-1
Chelsea (A) - 0-0 (Chelsea had won like 10 in a row or something at that point)
Cardiff (H) - 1-0
Liverpool (A) - 0-0
Newcastle (H) - 1-1
Watford (H) - 2-2
City (A) - 1-3
Spurs (H) - 2-6

So, the second part of the season (based on the thirds). Confident to begin with, then the derby happens, and we can't recover the form. The footy was still good, and the team still looked to have a system and style that worked.

Third part...

Burnley (A) - 5-1
Brighton (A) - 0-1
Leicester (H) - 0-1
B'mouth (H) - 2-1
S'ton (A) - 1-2
Huddersfield (H) - 1-0
Wolves (H) - 1-3
City (H) - 0-2
Watford (A) - 0-1

As I said, recently (i.e. the last third and the tail end of the second third) it's been very bad.

Of course fans do. 80% wanted him out after Watford now its only 60% why do you think that is?

The answer is no football and constant club/red echo propaganda.

@ForeverEverton completely agree we've been crap for at least half of the season, and results have been disappointing.

But at the start of the season the footy was decent and we were going through a big shift in playing style.

The argument seems to be sometimes that we should - or have a right because we're Everton - beat certain teams. Unfortunately, that argument doesn't stand up when our squads are at the same level, if not lower.

Wolves are 7th because they should be. Even on paper they have a better team, and clearly they seem to have a more astute manager. Watford have players they can rely on - that whatever happens won't go hiding (Deeney, Doucoure, Foster etc). Leicester have a reliable striker. Bournemouth are hot when they're on it, dreadful when they're not. West Ham are very much like us, tbh.

IN the good run we drew with Wolves, Bournemouth and Huddersfield, yet in the middle run we drew with Newcastle and Watford. Pretty much on a par.

Loads more similarities from all 3 parts of the season but folk on here will believe what they want and argue flawed arguments.

Just look at the fixtures youve listed above. You can see the same consistency across the whole season, we beat the teams we are expected to beat and lose to the teams we are expected to lose to. The teams in and around mid table is a lottery. That coupled with the fact Silva has the worst set piece defending in the PL this season and of anyone in the last 3 seasons with 3 different clubs is concerning. His teams have always hit bad dips he cannot turn around. Have we seen any suggestion he is on the training ground working on set piece defending? NO! He isnt good enough for Everton and I think the board realise that, definitely gone at the end of the season unless results do not improve.

I hate the give him time and money scenario, he has performed WORSE than Allardyce with 6 of his own signings in Richarlison, Digne, Gomes, Bernard, Zouma and Mina. BFS only got 2 in Tosun and Walcott. We want a manager that can get the best out of any team not a guy where we consistently have to throw money and players at him at any hint of a dip. That is not sustainable!

Huddersfield (H) - 1-1- we are absolutely shocking this game
West Ham (H) - 1-3- see anove
Arsenal (A) - 0-2- harsh scoreline and their second was offside, but it is what it is
Fulham (H) - 3-0- played well in the second half, first half was dire and they hit the post etc
Leicester (A) - 2-1- played alrite, only won after they went down to 10 men
Palace (H) - 2-1- this was 2-0 not 2-1, again played alrite but have pickfords saving a pen to thank for this

Man Utd (A) - 1-2- again harsh but we didn't start creating chances until we was 2 goals down
Brighton (H) - 3-1- cant fault this game played really well

whereas we did play well in parts before the derby, I wouldn't exactly say we was playing well, had just as many poor games as we did good games and a few ok games

have said though, just for the simple fact I don't know who we go for, we stick with silva for now till the end of the season at least and see how he can finish

Fair enough.

The Utd game though - that's not strictly true. We had 14 attempts and at least half came in the first half.

We did create our best chances after going 2-0 down, though.

we played well before they got that daft pen, but wouldn't say we had a real clear chance to score ( before we went 2 goals down )

I have posted this previously.

This record is simply not good enough.

69 Premier league games and a goal difference of -30.

Premier League Records
label.tablePlayerRecords
Matches69
Wins22
Draws14
Losses33
Goals For89
Goals Against119

Win % 32
Draw % 20
Lose % 48
Goals scored per game 1.29
Goal conceded per game 1.72

Wins just over a quarter of all his games, draws nearly a quarter and LOSES nearly half of all his games!!!

Using these percentages across a 38 game season we would finish with the following :-

P38 W12 D8 L18 F49 A65 GD16 Points 44

EDIT

This points total will have been good enough for :-

2009 13th
2010 13th
2011 15th
2012 15th
2013 12th
2014 12th
2015 14th
2016 14th
2017 14th
2018 =12th
