ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Mate that's a classic RS comment, I can see your face now all twisted up.

Give over, mate. You, like a lot of modern day blues, need to take your blinkers off. Like it or not, Liverpool is a world famous football club and Anfield is a world famous football stadium. Personally, I don’t want to leve Goodison for a generic, soulless bowl.

Mate I had my doubts but your comments have convinced me, why do you bother?

Well when it comes to their fans they have absolutely nothing to be jealous about When it comes to us. To state otherwise is just pure delusion.

The RS have just posted record profits
The could possibly win the league and CL
They have expanded their ground
Have invested in the team the right way
Have a world class manager

It pains me to state the above but it is what it is. We are miles behind them both on and off the pitch.

I think some of our fans need to come back down to earth and take a dose of reality.

You can take the piss out of the RS "Loft conversion" all you want the fact is it's making them a ton of money where as we haven't even got any officials plans for BMD yet.

Because they can never be happy.

It is a basic requirement of any cult......the need to feel persecuted where no persecution exists or has ever existed.

They feel the world is against them and they seek re-assurance from like minded souls.

It was probably an unintended coincidence that the popular end at The Pit became known as Spion Kop.....because the Laager mentality permeates that rotten club and its fanatics.

Even in their moment of greatest triump, when first they brought the European Cup back to the city, their skipper could not resist the urge to tell a hundred thousand people gathered outside St. George’s Hall that “Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic”

in the glorious eight years that followed that infamous night in 1977, when they were sweeping all before them, they became insanely jealous of Manchester United because, in spite of winning nowt, the media still lionised that club as the “most glamourous” club in England.

The RS has always been a club with a huge chip on its shoulder......and that rankled with them then, it still rankles to this very day.

And the thoughts of us moving to a brand spanking new, state of the art, iconic stadium right on Liverpool’s fabled waterfont whilst they languish, landlocked, in an area EFC moved out of when Victoria was still Queen is a bitter pill for them to swallow......no matter if they achieve great success on the field and we languish in continued mediocrity.

Hence the uneasiness and undisguised bitterness and bile they are displaying over BMD.

What else are they going to say? For any Evertonian who doubts that they are fuming at the prospect of our city centre presence, ask yourself this. . . . . . How p**sed would you be if every time you went into town shopping or for a pint you could see THEIR new ground with THEIR name dominating? If every time you saw a picture of the Liverpool skyline taken from the river you could see THEIR new ground?
They may say what they like I'm telling you, inside they are absolutely gutted.

I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be pissed off, because it would just be a football stadium and there are more important things in life to worry about.

You were called on it twice by 2 other posters on that line i highlighted.

"A new stadium is a much bigger deal than who's having a better season than the other. "

That's like saying Lyon move into a new stadium for 16/17 right after the euro championships in France and they had better season than PSG who just won a domestic treble at the end of that season because you think having a new stadium trumps everything that happens on a pitch during a season.

That's why i used the classic George Costanza gif because it was very apt for that line.

We built Anfield in 1884 and Goodison in 1892.
The legacy of which is still seen today every time us or the neighbours play at home.
Tell me who won what in those years without looking it up.
IF we do manage to make BMD a reality it will dwarf the importance of what happens on the pitch in that year.
When you've created something that'll be enjoyed by great grandchildren a century from now it's impossible to claim otherwise.

That new advert for Coca Cola, with the footy fans in it.

The RS fans are on the Mersey Ferry. Sailing and singing EXACTLY where our ground is going to be.

Made me proper chuckle to myself that..

Mate, it’s a Sunday afternoon and you’re pretending to be an Everton fan on the Internet.

Go the pub or something

Mate, it’s a Sunday afternoon and you’re accusing an Evertonian of being a Liverpool fan, on the internet.

Go the pub or something.

You are definitely a red am from Liverpool an have loads of red mates ones you can actually talk about football with too as well an not blag footy fans that just love the reds but don’t have a clue an they was all made up when they thought they was building a stadium on Stanley park. To the point now they see a lot of the other big clubs getting or planning for new stadiums an they got a stand they love anfield an they love how it is on a European night under the lights but they would love a brand new state of the art stadium every teams fans would they think they could fill one the size of old Trafford so you tell me why wouldn’t they want a new massive stadium.
