If Silva is sacked - who could/should we get?

Rafael or Conte for me

Conte Wenger Mourinho Heynkes LVG all available (whether they’d be interested is another question of course). But that is the level we should be targeting if we fire Silva. There is absolutely zero point in getting rid of Silva and replacing him with another mid table loser. We seem obsessed with this idea of finding the next Pochettino and so don’t target proven quality in the hope we unearth one. Martinez Koeman Allardyce and Silva should never have been offered the job of manager considering the position Moyes had us in. None had the experience of taking a team in the top 5 and moving it to the next level. City managed this with Mancini then Pellegrini. Whilst since that Newcastle have targeted Benitez, West Ham Pellegrini, Leeds Bielsa, we went for Martinez Koeman and Silva. We have zero ambition and allied to an absolutely incompetent footballing operation it’s produced a sinking ship of a football team.

The only manager Moshiri should go for if he gives up on Silva, is Diego Simeone. We need a strong tough manager to sort our squad out and to Instill discipline. I know it's a big ask to get him but I stead of spending big money on players we need to spend big on getting the right manager first and put a mark down on what our intentions are.

Go all out for Mourinho or Conte. Make them the highest paid manager in World football, if needs be.

Ok so we lob a huge wedge at either of them to try entice them.

How do we convince them we can spend the money in the transfer market they want when we are hamstrung by a huge squad and players we can't shift and talking about buying young players going forward.

Is your idea to lob big money at them and throw the squad/wage planning out the window to get big names of the type they would want?

And then okay...we do this.

How long to keep them in the job if there's no real improvement? Do we sack them mid season if it's really bad?

What's the next plan if they don't work out and we have more highly paid underperforming players in the squad? Spend big again?

It's way too easy to say sack and lob money at a big name. How would you manage the above?

No, bankrupting the club is hiring and firing terrible managers who are regressing the club.

Putting faith in a proven good manager, and given him the money the others have had, is what we needed to do.
The thing is a top class manager is surely cheaper than the 5 or 6 mid table managers we have hired and then fired these last few years. Do the maths.

Yes but we are talking about who to get now in the current situation. After the money's been wasted

He has all the same faults as the likes of Silva and Martinez as in he's as open as a pair of hookers legs 80% of the time.

Is he the manager that is going to get us competing with the top 4?

I bet your answer is no.

We've apparently got a manager who we hired to get us competing with the top 6, well we'll be lucky to finish top 10 at this rate. We need a manager who has proven themselves at winning trophies or at the very least challenging for trophies not some no mark who has a team playing pretty football for about 5 games a season.

Can't disagree with you there mate.

What about Wenger with Arteta for a year or two and then Arteta to take over on his own, or give Brands the job until the end of the season to see how he does at managing with his experience. All assuming they are willing to do the job of course.
