Cleverley, cost nothing and sold for £8M. And Besic, Galloway and Holgate will all get profits on the small sums paid for them....if that divvy Brands ever gets round to selling anyone.

Martinez's time here looks like the epitome of prudent house keeping in comparison with Koemageddon.

Besic? Galloway really? How much money are we going to lose when McCarthy leave?

The only great RM signing was Lukaku. That’s it. Most of them were crap. There is no way to denying that.

Doubtful on these two as if we could get a profit on them they'd have been sold by now..

And if you're counting money that hasn't come in yet then the jury's still out on the Koemageddon years.

Gueye, Lookman, Keane, Pickford, Calvert-Lewin could all bring in a profit.

That's not to say they didn't piss away more money than Martinez but he pissed away his fair share too and that's why the squad is in this mess.
You are forgetting Onyenkuru and Vlasic.

Not really, Mike.

Bobby shook the Moyes “knife to a gunfight” mentality off right away and had us going to toe to toe with the “top four” within a couple months.

Look at the way we savaged United and Arsenal at Goodison in that first season.

With the right man with the right attitude in charge we could be doing that again in no time.

I’m not talking about at Goodison, Moyes used to get plenty of wins at Goodison against them. Martinez couldn’t fix the mentality problem away from home and in big cup games when it mattered.

If I was Brands and Silva came in and told me he would leave if Gueye was sold I'd have just helped him out and fired him on the spot. We've been awful for 2 months and we are out of competition for anything meaningful. What exactly gives Silva the right to make any demands like that and try to hold Brands hostage? For me he should've been out the door by the close of business if he actually did that.

The funny thing is, it’s not just Moyes who struggles to win away against the top sides. They are top sides for a reason!

With respect... every man and his dog knows them players weren’t playing for Mourinho... I suspect ours are playing at their limit.

I am not entirely convinced about that. You may be right of course, but the players at Everton supposedly stopped playing for both Martinez and Koeman with no major (though I concede, some) upturn in fortunes after they were replaced.

Regards where we are at the moment, I don't question the attitude and effort but we are obviously being coached to do things that continuously fail - zonal marking, 4-2-3-1 formation, 2 defensive midfielders etc, etc.

It's all made up anyway mate, so don't worry yourself about it. And the bit in bold, obviously not because firing him would mean we need to pay the next two years of his contract at what, about 80k a week. In that very unlikely scenario I'd say to him "Really? If so, please sign this official declaration that you agree to resign in the case of Gueye being sold", then process to sell Gueye as quickly as possible.

A manager has to have some kind of say in his team otherwise what is the point of him being there?

Transfers should be judged by how successful the players are not whether we’ve balanced the books or not. Apart from Lukaku Martinez bought a load of rubbish. Just because Koeman then spent a load more money on more rubbish doesn’t mean Martinez was some sort of transfer guru. The last window we had under Brands and Silva was one of the best since Moyes. Hopefully they continue in this way.
