The squad is decent much better than last years. I was very pleased with the transfer made. Bernard, I believe, was wanted by Chelsea, Gomes has pedigree, Mina looked like a nasty brickhouse, Richarlison has huge potential. There were plenty of fans wanting Lookman to get a run. Walcott added pace although he's always been inconsistent and Tosun was scoring goals in the Champions League. Zouma may still be wanted by Chelsea

It's decent, but inconsistent. A bit like the manager.

James Tarkowski was the key part to the Burnley back line then, not Keane, hence why recently with their injuries the RS have been linked with him because he is a decent player and a leader.

I thought he only came into his own after Keane left?

Whats bothering me, and obviously everyone else is the fact we know we don't have a striker and we know worryingly despite having some decent creative players, we aren't creating. So when things are going like this, you must, simply must, keep clean sheets, we have gone in the opposite direction.

Martinez season 2 and 3, it was to the point we needed to score 4 to win and it's getting like it again. If he can't shore up that defence, he will be toast and it's his own fault.

If you read my post again, you'll see I'm not having a go at the questions - its the fact they're having to be asked.

Most of this press conference has been around the manager/his players inability to setup to defend a set play. Astonishing at this level.

I agree. Completely embarassing. Almost humiliating.

My favourite bit of the press conference was the journo, baffled by how bad we set up against set plays asked "is it just the players not listening to you?"
