Lets see, a reset and start again last spring, new Manager and DOF appointed, a full summer transfer window as well as a very experienced DOF to help you and here is progress for you. It really takes some doing to have done worse than someone as bad as Allardyce, but that is exactly what Silva has managed to do.

Silva Everton Record

Won 10, drawn 6, lost 11

Allardyce Everton Record

Won 10, drawn 7, lost 9

Even though i would rather have Silva than Allardyce, they are both a pair of wasters that shouldn't be anywhere near the club.

Need another reset at the end of this season only a proper one this time and one that takes Kenwright and Moshiri away from the decision making or this never ending cycle of embarrassment will never end.

Marco looks like a beaten man.

Does anyone remember his first presser when he was announced. He was a bag of nerves. I had my doubts then but I was hoping he would do a good job.

Sadly, I think he’s out of his depth at a big club (with big expectations) like Everton.

Moshiri’s ringing endorsement of him (Not!) at the recent AGM wouldn’t have helped his cause any.

He has managed at a bigger club than Everton already, and arguably one just as big as well.

A cycle of embarrassment is sacking your manager every year because your pissypant fans refuse to allow a manager time to build a squad of his making.

Well tbf, while Sam had the relative task of cleaning up the mess left by Koeman, who had a task of cleaning up the mess left by Martinez, Silva has had the task of cleaning up a mess left by all three of them (plus Walsh).

It's not an excuse, but this season was always going to be a slog.

The main worry is that we've been in a rut for two months, and that's wiped out a huge chunk of our season. In relative terms, as long as it seems, it's still only 8 weeks ago that we were in 6th place and flying. There's been good and bad points this season, at the moment more bad than good, and Silva takes his share of the blame for that of course.

I am fine with rebuilding but i am not at all fine with going backwards and never will be. You can call it pissypant fans as much as you like but ignoring how poor we have done and not doing anything about it will never improve things. I would rather be embarrassed about going through a few poor Managers any day of the week than accept mediocrity.

I was thinking about Moyes earlier and how he didn't tolerate lack of effort from his players. I'm sure he'd put a few of our current squad in their place.

Serious question though, do you think he's the same coach he was in 2012?

No I don't. The question is what did he learn from his experiences abroad and at other teams. I actually think he did a good job with West Ham last season and was sacked harshly (a bit like Allardyce with us). You also have to factor in that he nows the club inside out and has some awareness of what the fans would want, which would give him a better chance.

He wouldn't be my number 1 option, but if we lost to Huddersfield and Silva went to be replaced with Moyes I wouldn't be too bothered and probably quite happy. Especially if he brought a couple of the older players in as coaches (like Cahill/Arteta).

You can't compare them because allardyce never had richarlison, zouma, digne gomes, mina, Bernard or lookman

So in that respect those figures are flawed.

How can any manager turn things around in 6 moths ? Seriously have a think about it. Changing every year does nothing except cause uncertainty throughout the whole squad

I know people are annoyed and things aren't good enough at the moment. But I agree with the above to a certain extent.

You can't keep on sacking managers every season. Brands and Silva were only appointed in their roles last summer. I really think you've got to give them until this time next season before any real decision can be made on them. Maybe Silva is the wrong man for the job but I'm not sure we know that yet. At some point we've got to give a new manager 18-24 months to turn things around.

The mess the club is in currently is not of Silva's making. He's the easy target but fingers should really be pointed at the owner and the board for the absolute scattergun approach of the last few years.

was we ever "flying" though?

until that point we had won 1 away game all season ( against 10 man Leicester )

the only real good performance up until the derby was Chelsea away and even that we didn't win

up until that point, we had already been knocked out of the cup by dross, dropped points at home against a truly horrible huddersifeld team, beat by west ham who had lost every single game

had disciplinary issues, let a few leads slip through careless defending, conceding stupid set piece goals every week early on

we were playing alrite and the derby and few games prior we were playing very well, but some making out we were barca for 3 months of the season
