I honestly couldn't care less at this point. Our season is over in January. It won't make one jot of difference whether we finish 7th or 17th. These players are a joke and need binned off. This manager is too stubborn to defend the most basic of set plays. This club are a national embarrassment and no one wants to do anything about it.

I feel the same way about the league position. I dont care either. I'd rather we stopped obsessessing about it and allowed this manager to get things wrong in order to learn about the squad and what he needs to put right. We cant go on changing managers - at some point we need a manager to be given space to go backward before going forward.
I admire your positivity, but our full strength team just got smashed by Millwall. We had 2 shots on target all game.

The conditions were atrocious and they got very lucky with that second goal. Perspective is required.
Last night was Millwall Dave, the week before was Southampton, we got lucky against Bournemouth, is the penny not dropping? We are absolutely awful and have zero fight in the side apart from Digne and Zouma.

Let's just get things sorted for next season....which is why I keep arguing for players in this month, so we hit the ground running in 2019/20.
To be fair dave, we had the quality to beat Leicester Southampton Palace Newcastle milwall etc

It’s the abject performances and sterile defending which is missing.

If I see a change in formation and people clearly punted from the 11 I’ll have hope that’s he got a grip of them and is laying down the law. Unfortunately I believe it’ll be “same as before lads, we go again”

I think his hands are tied on that until he gets a striker and a right sided wide player in worthy of the name...and a RB for that matter. He needs to have a warchest - a sizeable one. Do this on the cheap and no manager will get it right.
I think the larger issue Dave is that that he looked dearth of confidence before the game; in fact, he's shown a somewhat lack of confidence and energy as of late.

Obviously it's only conjecture on my behalf, however if this is true then it's not unfair to consider that this may be hampering his efforts with the players?

It's hard to inspire others - if not nigh on on impossible - and revitalise our playing style when you lack confidence yourself, or at least aren't showing it.

Don't get me wrong it is easier said than done, but any leader needs to show optimism, confidence and other leadership qualities when times get rough. Can he?

In layman's terms, Silva looks a beaten man who is totally bereft of confidence and the players are simply echoing this with their (lack of) play on the pitch.
If it's down to players not working for a manager again then that's a virus we have to stamp out at some time ot other. We may as well do it now, because we'll just end up going through manager after manager. If I was Brands I'd instruct Silva to play the U23s before I caved in to a bunch of fannies like this lot.

Panic over? You think this run from early December isn’t enough cause panic anyway? The fact he has presided over such a run twice in his career shows that he always has it in his locker.

Sack.
I'm not panicking. We're safe and should experiment in what's left of this season. These last 15 fixtures should be seen as a laboratory for Silva to work on different tactics with different players.

The baffling thing for me is that our centre backs are actually very good in the air, Keane, Mina and Zouma nearly always win their aerial duels during open play. It's just utterly unbelievable how we are so poor at defending set pieces. I'm in the give Silva more time camp but it's impossible to defend that yesterday. To concede the same goal, 3 times, two of which came just after we score, is appalling and it does raise huge questions as to what exa fly is going on at Finch Farm.

I have no doubt that Silva would love to go into the market but if that can't happen he has to find solutions within this squad. We are just doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results - it's ludicrous.

No one love him he has better records than Silva that’s all.

To deny Benítez and Pelligrini are far superior than Silva is laughable.
Not the point at all..
So what. The trophies they have won will not disappeared.

They also have less resources If you compare it with Moshiri’s era.
What about Howard Wilkinson. Walter Smith. Martin o Neill. All won trophies.
Happy with them?

I will be satisifed if we end this as one of the crap seasons we had under Moyes. They happened regularly btw, we would end in 13th place and be happy about reaching 40 points. Just lets avoid any of this relegaton panic crap that had us hiring Allardyce

Lol Benítez won the Premier League, the Champions League and the Europa League etc.

Pelligrini won the Premier League.

What are you thinking? Go and wiki it if you need the info.

Are you trying to say Silva is the same level? This is laughable.

Not sure you have a good grasp of English.
I would want neither of them as manager of Everton tomorrow.

I think I agree at the minute. This fella has inherited a lot of overpaid crap with poor attitudes and no pride in their profession. I show more passion in my 6 a side in Bootle than these clowns. It must be hard to discipline these players by making an example and getting shut when nobody will have them due to their wage. What an era for your average players.

My gut instinct is that Silva isn't good enough but he has been left a near impossible task. We should let him wield the axe from now to the end of the season and make room for more of your Dignes in the summer who show a high level of professionalism. The squad is rotten to the core and is going to take a massive overhaul to change that.

I think our managers body language in games Dave, just standing there, arms folded, passionless, emotionless may be projecting onto the bellends on the pitch as well mate.
Win, lose or draw he adopts that pose though.

You seen when we scored yesterday how passionate he is.

Our players love all this stuff about managers being the issue...it's hidden for the best part of the last 5 years that THEY are the problem at Everton. I;d expect a ruthless and clear headed DoF to be swarming all over this and laying down the law and backing his coach up. Instead, Brands is MIA.

I wanted to give Silva a season. But he's making it really difficult to keep wanting it.

Be more proactive and extroverted. Show us some ideas. I'm not getting any confidence from him at the moment.

Quite worried about it now. I hope that he can turn it around but that hope is starting to dwindle.

Better than Silva by miles.

I don’t understand why do you try to argue about the trophies they won. You are basically saying Benítez and Pelligrini = Howard Wilkinson, Walter Smith and Martin O’Neill.

The players feel they know they have time on their side: that a slide will see them get their way, and another manager who makes them work hard will be down the road.

Brands is the key here. He has to be in lock step with Silva this summer and get anyone who cant or wont hack it off the club's books. For me it;s Brands' responsibility to change the cultural attitude here, Silva gets to coach those players who WANT to work with him. That's the division of labour as I see it.

‘We’re safe’ Being safe from relegation wasn’t the aim for the season. He’s been an utter disgrace. He’s far worse than Martinez and Koeman, which says a lot.
