I think the only thing keeping him around is the lack of a viable alternative. Hopefully we’re doing some digging in the background because I don’t think anyone sees him being in charge next season, at this point. Somehow, despite our horrendous form, we’re still within spitting distance of 7th - we could still salvage this season, but not with him in charge, I feel.

Keeping this clown will see us lose League place prize money. This squad should be clear in 7th, but will likely finish somewhere between 11th-15th.

He needs sacking and it should be done today. A draw/loss tomorrow will ensure it.

It's Tuesday night we play mate.

I see your point and I think it's legitimate. I can't see the club doing it though.

I voted no. It's not to say my vote can't be changed. I don't see an awful lot of benefit for getting rid of Silva now. Brands should certainly be noting the performance soft players and keeping an eye on managers re the summer. If it doesn't improve then Silva likely goes in the summer.

Agree with this. Just have to stick with it until then end of the season. Brands should be assessing possible replacements until then.

Using stats as a barometer is a mistake, the gameplay it was determines a manager. The start of the season we had a high press and looked dangerous on the counter attack. I haven’t seen any indication of that in the best part of 4 months

We actually look like an allardyce side, but one that can’t defend. People are isolated everywhere, the ball doesn’t get moved on quickly enough; it’s all stagnant.

No idea what you mean by 'using stats as a barometer is a mistake'. You said we have an inability to create chances. Yet throughout the season as a whole the evidence shows that to be untrue. Take either an inference like expected goals or take a plain old measure of the total number of shots or shots on target. The answer is the same. And those outcomes are driven by the play that we observe for 90 minutes. So I wouldn't go around treating measures of what happened and perceived 'gameplay' as somehow mutually exclusive.

Agree on the change relative to start of the season, but I think we were still in the period until the derby. That was December, so less than two months ago. Now I see a team that is trying to find the balance, with some key players out of form, and agree it can look stagnant at times. Where we differ I guess is that I think we are broadly on the right track.

Yep, it feels like ages ago but fact is it's not even two months.

It has been a terrible two months though.

That being said, nothing about the last two performances have suggested to me that we are on the right track.

Have slept on this now, yesterday after the game I was furious and wanted everyone gone. I think we need to give him a chance, he’s got the rest of the season to work out his formation issues and constant changing the line up. Set pieces need to be addressed also. If we’re still as bad at the end of the season unfortunately he has to go.

Start of the season, yes we were creating chances quite freely. But now (for the last 4 months) we’re lucky if we test the keeper 3 times in a game or even look remotely dangerous

I'm not in favour of sacking him simply because it's fast path to decline if you keep getting rid of managers, but a decline is happening anyway if he does not take control of this debacle soon. I want to say give him as long as Martinez at least I was really encouraged from the beginning from Silva but now we're in bad way make no mistake about that. Huddersfield will be another judgement call.

Decision should be based on:

1.Can the manager free the club from the shackles of midtable mediocrity and help lead the way in liberating the club of the negative, anxiety ridden, defeatist aspects of its mentality.
The answers looks to be no and therefore the search must continue.
There's no use living in false hope.
At the same time there's no use living in despair.

2. When?
Should be determined by availability of another manager who is competent enough and willing to give the above a go.
There's no use sacking Silva now if they're just going to do an Unsy on it - unless it becomes too toxic, which its not.

Unless said manager is ready to come in before the end of the season, Silva should be given the opportunity to adapt, change and get that 7th spot.
Reckon we need to objectively stand back and give him that, and stick to a critique of the on field.

Think he’s not been given all the tools required.

Who on earth didn’t realise we need one / two strikers at start of season?
That’s the boards fault; he’s got one hand tied behind his back right now.
Let's be real, having a good striker in the squad wouldn't change the mentality or overall quality of the team.

The tactics are downright one-dimensional most of the time and having a new striker upfront won't change that.

We had Tosun, DCL, Sandro and Niasse on the books to start the season. They are all, bar Sandro, effective in their own way. We haven't seen a tune out of any of them under Silva.
