Just embarrassing now. Players need to grow a set and start taking games by the scruff, we play like we're low on confidence since losing the derby. Marco needs to shake things up and stop persisting with Richy up front. Would rather see DCL/Tosun up front if we aren't getting a new CF. Play Richy out wide and Bernard at 10. Play Gueye and Siggy central midfield and give Gomes a game or two to rest. A large percentage of games we've lost or drawn really should've been wins, the quality is there but something just isn't clicking at present. Probably a multitude of reasons tbh.

They’re not wrong though, it’s not like they’re missing him

There’s obviously bad blood between the two clubs for the manner in which we took Marco: the general consensus being that we were in the wrong and may yet receive a slap on the wrists.

The fact we also took their best player off them, I can understand why they are giving us stick given the current situation.

Lokk,m at last years January signings Walcott, and Cenk Tosun millions down the drain for at least Tosun........

Oh I know mate not disagreeing with the waste of money last Jan and one of them is apparently for sale. I'm sure if we punted Tosun out for about 12m we'd have a replacement through the door in about 6 minutes.

But Gylfi isn’t a CM so it’s not really 4-3-3 in essence.

I know he isn't. I do think he could play in a flat three, though. He has the ability. He can't play in a deep 2 in a 4-2-4/4-2-3-1, bar the odd occasion where we're on top/a man up etc.

Something needs changing, though.

The jury is out on Silva. I see progress but I see also a sad continuation of established frailties.

However, we have to factor in Pickford. His form has destroyed our season single handedly. His catalogue of errors (with that derby catastrophe taking 'pride' of place) have skewed any analysis that can be made. The football has been decent, the application good; you just dont need a player in a key position making frequent costly errors.

Along with the summer failure to land a good striker, THAT'S been the deciding factor in our season.
