ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

They haven't played as well this season as they did last but they've still been one of the clear top 3 in the league. If they could get knocked out of the CL that would be funny but a long way to go after the Napoli-PSG draw.

This pic says it all about the shower over there!

Fair enough, but bear in mind that this guy started the cult and entitlement mentality which runs through the rs to this day.....when he left it was clear that Paisley was in charge and he didnt want Shankly giving advice from the sidelines. As the song says..."Oh we hate Bill Shankly etc Liked his political views, but not him as manager of a cult he instigated....

When Liverpool played St Etienne in the European Cup in 1977, that night he was watching Everton play Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup, says everything
Was that one of 'the great European nights at Anfield'?
I'm only asking because it may only have been mentioned every time they've had a home game in Europe ever since.

How many of their players would you have in our team?

I'd have a few if I'm honest

Mane and VVD especially

Remember that they are a better first XI than us so that does tend to give the impression that 1-11 they are individually better. However:

Allison isn't significantly better than Pickford so I'm not sure I'd cough up £45M for the difference
TAA or Gomez probably a bit better than Coleman now.. but you are looking at two fast, younger defenders.
VVD is a fine defender but he's also a typical Kopite (think about his transfer behaviour) - he'll jump that ship before long..
Lovren for Keane/Mina - err no!!
Robertson for Digne - I don't think so..
Midfield - they've spent big and, when you've got Mo on the end of all their work.. I mean Mo Salah, Ronaldo, Messi could make me look half decent!!
Firmino - typical spiteful Kopite.. not for me.
Mane - yes, on his day pretty good.

I'd take VVD, Salah if his head is sorted again,. Mane maybe. Gomez or TAA. Midfield it's similar. They are definitely stronger at the back and up front.

I've had the pleasure of meeting quite a few people off this forum at the match, and they know that

A. I'm Everton through and through

And

B. I detest Liverpool FC

However, just because I don't like them doesn't mean I have to pretend they aren't a good team. I don't see why we all have to be so blinkered about it. We mock them for doing similar about other clubs (And rightfully so)
I know what you mean Mikey some people do go overboard on them saying their rubbish but they're not, they are overrated and in my opinion won't in anything they'll be miles behind Man City at the end of the season. I just hope we can do them at Anfield because I'm sick of not winning against them.

This feels a bit premature to be honest

I know it's difficult for us to admit it due to our club allegiance, but they're a good side and he's an excellent coach

I'd be shocked if they finish any lower than 4th, and I think that until Man City pull real distance between them in the league, they are genuine contenders to win it along with Chelsea. It's one of those three who will be standing with the trophy come May I think
I agree with your last sentence but you could replace Chelsea and the RS with Huddersfield and Fulham and I’d still agree.
