Yeah but Liverpool have always had an average side in my opinion, for me they have always got by on reputation and the ability to defend, oh and of course some dodgy refs.
Agreed, but I am thinking below average and recent signings don't lead me to believe that they will be able to get top players in the short term, unless there are a lot of top quality "I've always wanted to play for the [Poor language removed] since I was 8 months old" type players who are prepared to come into a decidely average side.

I think "fell apart" is the operative word here. How many of that side with quality is left? They've got rid of their major midfield engines and the only players with any class left is Reina, Carra, ladyboy and Stevie G. All the others would struggle to get on our bench.

I wouldn't take Carra these days, to be honest. He's been a liability for a while now.

Every pound that is spent on the Red [Poor language removed] is one less dollar than can be spent on the Sox outfield. I love it. Maybe Red [Poor language removed] can become a new knickname for the Sox. Can we make this happen?

Lots of cryptic talk here. We don't have to hate the badger people, do we?

Is it time for the badger parade????

I spose Kim Yung Il might be preferred to Glicks and Hilette..

BUT! - It would have been nice if last night's BBC coverage wasn't a spunkfest ... and maybe they should be a little careful of what they wish for. Seems to me (to coin a phrase used somewhere on this matter) you'd have to live on Planet Zog to not know that The RS were for sale, and now that they've got a willing buyer they are beside themselves with glee at the prospect of getting rid of Tom and Gorge.. forgetting that Henry is a hard nosed businessman who has waited till the price is rock bottom and he probably won't be a whole lot better than those that went before..

Still when I read all the BS they write about the upcoming Derby and the unpleasant bile they (still) reserve for us I can't say I'm overly distressed at their current plight.

some City Expert on SSN comparing what they have done in Boston etc etc, thEn at they end he mentioned something about help and support from LCC ?

wtf has this got to do with the council ?

They gave them a prime site on communal parkland and it has lay empty ffs

IMO they should get nothing from the council unless anything given is matched for other sports establishments in the area, they are a PRIVATELY RUN BUSINESS and the bloke who talks of buying them is worth a mint.

That fella knows how to build a stadium, amongst other things...

Surely the red sox success was based on redevelopment of the existingstadium. Whether they can do this at afield or make lfc success whilst funding a 300 million stadium is another matter. Could see the Stanley park site become available? Although how we can ever fund a new stadiumeven with a plot of land is beyond me.

I like the fact that people say henry did well by maximising the red sox merchandising capabilities, and so we can expect liverpoolfootballclub to improve their revenue streams this way. Given that liverpoolfootballclub already have a liverpoolfootballclub cape and liverpoolfootballclub superhero outfit, I really can't see what there is left to merchandise. liverpoolfootballclub hovercraft? liverpoolfootballclub colostomy bags?

and as for exploiting the revenue streams of india and china, where do they think all this plastic crap is made. They could knock out "unofficial" merchandise there no problem. I can't see anyone in china paying £50 for an official shirt, when they make them for £4.

dont they play eighty-odd home games a season though?

I suspect that after all this hoohaa has died down the RS will improve on the pitch, but still they don't have enough quality to be near the top four, maybe even top 6. I suspect they will start to haemorrhage their glory supporters. Which glory supporter wants to fly from Oslo to see their team scrap out a draw against Blackburn in a midtable clash, or travel to see them play the team currently fifth in the moldovan league in the Europa?
