New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

He's a divvy who likes the attention and fame.

I'm sure he's very successful in his field and that but in reality, he's the owner of a relatively small company that people were very surprised won the contract for BMD. The same could be said of Roma.

The irony of course BMD and Roma are the two grounds he's most famous for designing, neither of them are actually grounds yet. Just pie in the sky, maybe one day.

The whole Everton tatoo is an embarrassment, got a bit of attention on twitter, loads of blues called him a legend so he got a tattoo. How professional of a so called top architect. Madness all round.

Hahaha okay mate.

His current individual firm is relatively new but if you look at his work while working at other firms you'll see he's actually one of the best.

Divvy.

There is so much wrong with this post I’m not sure where to start. I recommend you go back and look at his portfolio and the work he’s done before posting this silliness again.

I don't think he's saying there's no inkling of where the money is coming from - just that it's not in place as it stands. The club took the opportunity to move for the land - a sensible move given the plans for the area and the location. I could see how that could be done without financing in place for the build.
That doesnt make sense mate buy some derelict land on a whim and without any funding planned !
Poster said "we havent got the funding for it" & "no one knows where the money is coming from"....pretty sweeping statements those.Again only Moshiri & his close inner circle knows , until he decides the time is right people are just guessing.

Everton have not bought the site but they have control of it . They have an agreement with Peel for a 200 year lease ,subject to obtaining planning permission and securing funding. That information is available on the club website.

Who should they have hired Dave? Colin Chong has had a long history in construction and development and has already been responsible for a stadium build.
Well here's my counter question to that in answer to it: if we already had this "industry expert" in-house, why did the new CEO state that the club would scour the world for leading candidates to fill the role? If we already had the best there was for us and there was no legal requirement to advertise it then it was just a matter of spinning the fanbase another line.

It makes sense to me. It's hardly on a whim, given we are looking for a site and what is planned for the area. Imagine being 15 years down the line having passed up the opportunity to buy the land once the Liverpool waters scheme has taken off. The potential benefits outweigh the relatively small risk of the sum needed to buy the land, should those conditions arise.

You've not answered any question at all. You questioned the ability of the person currently in the role by assuming he has no expertise in the area. I only asked who you would have put in place.

I have absolutely no idea of the recruitment process, when where or who, all we know is who now has the role.

But if he was there already then why look outside the club (or say you are) for someone else?

You KNOW the point I'm raising is a legitimate one where Chong's appointment is concerned and that it's suggestive of a lack of rigour where employing the best people for this project.

I dont think (although i could be a million miles away ) there's any other reason than to build the stadium for taking up the option on the land.
To me this was the most significant news to indicate things were happening especially on the funding.
Or why else would the club push on with the scheme. It certainly wouldnt be Peel letting anyone sit on a chunk of their land for anything other than the stadium only to profit from it in years to come.

Maybe if Council money is involved the job had to be advertised

I don't really disagree, I'm just saying that it's not impossible to imagine that the club moved for an agreement on the land without having the stadium funding arranged.
