He isn't ignorant to defensive frailties, though.

The goal we conceded last night is because Kenny, Davies, Zouma, Keane and Schneiderlin didn't do their jobs.

Kenny let Redmond have the freedom of the wing. Davies let Ings run clear. Zouma and Keane and Schneiderlin stood five yards off Ings.

That isn't going to be an instruction from the manager.

From set pieces we've - touch wood - started looking more settled, especially since Keane came back in. We seem to be settling into the zonal marking, because guess what, things don't happen overnight.

If we werent going for a Jardim, Nagelsmann, Mancini type manager Pellegrini was the next best option but instead we hired this bloke.

Martinez MrkII guaranteed but some like with Koeman, Walsh, Bolasie, Williams etc. are to proud to admit that Moshiri has once again been sold a pup. Why he never appointed Brands before a new manager I'll never know.

I like him

Should have started with a stronger team last night and bring the youngsters on if we’re in a comfortable position in the game

My boss is a Leicester fan so we’d better batter them now
 
Whilst I'm not entirely gutted about Everton's indifferent start to the season, it's knee-jerk of the highest order to suggest Silva is not up to the job just yet!

My view, with a new manager starting, is to virtually write-off the first season as transitional, whilst he's getting his methods, playing style and personnel in place. Madness to want him out after a handful of games.
 

Rotating 7 players when the 1st 11 isn't exactly firing on a cylinders is just stupid. His job is to win matches, he reduced the odds of that happening last night.

I like him but any moans and groans from any Evertonian is fully justified and he'll have to take it on the chin and learn fast that we simply don't have a good enough squad to be making those changes


Except Bernard who is boss but he'll know that anyway and I'm sure is already begging Brands to find him more similar quality players like that

Well this is the big bad Ev faithful you’re talking about here, and patience doesn’t exist. We need to return to our rightful place at the top (where we were for about 4 years in the 80’s) NOW otherwise heads need to roll! WE’VE SPENT £300m YOU KNOW! GIVE US BACK ARE GRATE CLUB!!!!!’1

Good post. It will be some time before we know for sure if Silva has got what it takes to drag the club forward because it is a pretty tall order given the mistakes of the last couple of years. That said he got it wrong last night for exactly the reasons you state. Momentum from Saturday thrown away and a good turn out of fans let down again. Stick with a winning team as much as you can to build up partnerships all over the pitch. Get the specific game won and then give fringe players their chance from that position. Winning breeds confidence so prioritise that over gaining knowledge about fringe players.
