The coaching is failing in our academy. These players are not men. They are still playing like teenage boys well into their 20s. No heart, no self belief, no guts to take responsibility. Just stroll about and expect someone else to do it for them

Unsworth is a specialist in failure.
seen Unsworth coach and give interviews, he would put xavi and iniesta as fullbacks or wingers..he should draw his formations in a cave, it would be appropriate

I hope we sell him for £500k and he goes on to be world class.

Most of our young players have it in them to become decent premier standard players if they develop to their potential. This lad has the class and ability to be so much better.

I don't think he'll develop here though because fans won't give him a chance. He'll be better off somewhere like Italy where the game is more suited to his style.

Everyone wanted him to succeed last night but he just didn't get involved. He dodges the responsibility in the first team environment and drifts through the game.

Our young players just can't blame the fans, managers, the press etc forever. They need to at some point grasp an opportunity and relish being in the first team. There's severe mental fragility in our youth setup and it's a huge shame because these are talented lads.

Lad needs games, if hes got any chance of kicking on, but defo not here.
Championship is no good for him. He was standout at Forest for 6 months (which shows his quality) and then new manager came in and changed things about. I don't think he'll learn anything more at that level.

Personally I'd send him abroad. Italy would suit his style but Germany have a good record for trusting younger players if they have the right quality, so a toss up for me.

Beginning to think it's all irrelevant anyway. Think all of our young players will struggle here, but Kieran especially because of his languid style. I fear some other team is going to reap the benefit of his qualities in the future in the event he does develop.

You can teach skill but nobody can put guts or grit into a player if it isn't already there.
I have always believed that you cannot put devil into a player... or ever really take it out.
I've been watching Keiron since he was sixteen, his skill has never been in doubt, when he has the ball he will make you sit up and take notice, when he loses it he never goes looking for the ball, he drifts out of the game for long periods, for such a big lad he lacks bite, his heart doesn't lookin it, can't tackle, doesn't like the rough stuff. I saw him against Spurs U23's the other week, playing with lads a lot younger than himself, instead of showing an example and having a good go
he just ambled around the pitch making it obvious, to me anyway, he didn't want to be there. He has never changed his attitude in the five years I've watched him. Skill is fine, but is never, ever any use on it's own, you need, bottle, heart and guts to go with it. It doesn't look like the lad will ever change.

I thought he played alright to be honest, not great or anything but alright. It was telling in the 2nd half when he'd gone off that we never put 3 passes together.
Agreed, some of the comments about him are frankly bizarre. There were worse performers than him first half. He looked better deeper against Rotherham. Personally I’d have taken Schneiderlin off at half time and dropped Dowell back with Davies, brought Richarlison on and moved Bernard to no 10. We’d have started to play some football then. Instead our substitutes made us worse until we finally saw sense and took Schneiderlin off towards the end.

Dowell was shocking, i honestly hardly seen him show for ball never mind touch it or create anything. I cant stand Schniderlin but Dowell absoloutley should have been removed first.
