I just don’t see why it has to be so drawn out. Make the club and player an offer. Not saying you can’t give a player a few days to consider, but if there is hesitancy after that, you at least know they are reluctant and that isn’t a great starting point for a move.

It might work more in our favour with players if we made sure they knew we had alternatives as there always seems to be a certain desperation with our pursuit of at least one player every summer, weeks of effort and negotiation being put in with little chance of a positive end result.

There should be a very clear idea of what’s required to get this over the line now, and they should also know if it’s been another huge waste of time.

My concern is still that there is too many people at the club involved in transfers. We really need to see the end results of the groundwork put in this week, and jib off clubs and players that just use us as pawns.
 

Even if we do sign him I don't see him starting against Wolves anyway, No way Marco would risk that.
