I'll be amazed he gets a buyer given the fact theres never going to be a chance to buy the whole club as long as kronke is there.

525m to invest for 30% of a club your never going to fully own and not even have a seat at the board. And leaving the running of the club to someone your never going to see or speak to.

No thanks!
No you wouldn't. But you are not a multi millionaire or billionaire business person. From an investment point of view you would get good returns for fairly low risk. The premier league is going from strength to strength and can't see that stopping anytime soon.

If they were seriously up for sale, which it would seem this article suggests, I doubt it will take long for him to shift them.

Can't say I disagree with any of this.
This article being in the FT is quite big news really, they don't print stuff like this likely. It's almost a come and get me plea.

Thanks mate. Yes I agree. It's like placing an advert on Facebook for you and me. It's the paper every investor reads so it's no coincidence it's in there. It's a big move to stick it in there, as people who would look to buy will take it far more seriously it is in that paper than any other.

This isn't any new information, he's been actively looking to get rid since he said so months back.

This is just some extra promotion of that fact.

It's an asset that continues to grow. They are the biggest club in the biggest city in Europe. Lots of investors are happy to be silent partners. I'm not saying it would be easy or would happen, but I can't say I'd be "amazed" if someone wanted to invest in a business that has grown substantially over the last 20,10,5,1 years and is in a boom sector.

Wonder how much Usmanov has made from his shares, despite having no influence.

Also, there's every chance someone coming in would have some influence. Kroenke just wont work with Usmanov.

That is where the Esk’s argument falls down. He doesn’t know why anyone would pay for a slice of the pie without having any influence. If that slice is growing all the time though then an investor may want exactly this as they would make money without doing anything.

Considering how much Kronke would love to get his hands on those shares I am surprised he hasn't got someone else to buy them on his behalf and then sell them straight to him after.

The club is at its lowest point in 20 years. For 525m you can buy Newcastle for 350m, and put 200m into transfers. Or 30% of arsenal who are way off even getting top 4, and kronke makes all of the decisions.

Partnerships like that don't last at 50/50, let alone 70/30.

Both are good points. For lots of investors having no influence means having no responsibility. I also agree with you that Kroenke and Usmaniv seem to have personal as well as ideological differences, which may not exist with potential new investors.
