Two signings from about 20 years ago (one of which Smith managed to get the best out of at Rangers so was obviously a Smith signing) and two players who actually did alright for us generally.

Of all the reasons?
Mate i dont support Rangers so dont care what he did there.I do remember a fantastic performance by Gazza for us against mighty Orient but not much else.As for two players who actually did alright for us is that really good enough?

Technically it's not a lie (although the number of Premier League medals may be out).

..exactly. Weird as it sounds, I wonder if the public will always associate him more with Everton than Manchester United.
