I am feeling pretty positive now, after a season of negativity. Getting rid of Allardyce and quickly was paramount as the longer he remained the worse things would have got. IMO we didn't actually need him, a day was too long but here we are.
We need to give Silva some time, we also could do with opening fixtures less horrific than the ones we saw last season. Any team would have struggled with those fixtures.
Lessons should have been learned and with a clear out of the dead wood and some wise purchases we can definitely improve on last season as far as league position goes. I'd go so far as to suggest we could end our trophy drought with a cheeky pitch for the league cup.
If the turmoil at Chelsea continues and Spurs have stadium and manager worries then who knows what we might achieve, for all the so called seasons when we overachieved, last season we most certainly underachieved. There any many reason to be positive right now as I finally feel that the club is headed in the right direction.

For me it's indifference at worst, with cautious optimism at best.
I've mentioned that I went to a good number of home Hull games when he was there and be in no doubt the football on offer then was better than we were seeing at GP. On the strength of that I said he could be a success if he came to us. You know, bigger and better run club, better finances, better players and so on. The first hour of the Watford game at ours, made me think we'd missed an opportunity in not hiring him, and the rest is history.
So here we are and I'm thinking he's had time to have a long think about this task, and if he can stabilise us and heal the divide between the fans and the team, then in the short term it's job done for me.
And if he has eyes on a bigger club in years to come then I hope he succeeds as that would mean he's been a success with us. Mind you wasn't that the case with Edam Head to begin with.
 

Like I say, this man had 6months to fully prepare, scout, analyse our squad to the tiniest of detail. He should be able to identify the weakness and strength of our team and At individual level and I don’t expect him to take too Long to settle down and implement change.

If he’s good, performance and result will be swift.
 
None of the reservations I have about him concern the style of football he plays or the results he has got

I'm more concerned about how he's only ever managed one club for more than a season and equally the fact he wanted to jump ship after 6 months last year when we came in for him is a concern - mostly because I think we need a bit of stability. I'm not saying we need a manager for 10 years or whatever, but 3 years would be nice.

Crucial to all of it will be what we do in the transfer market. There are some hugely expensive gaffes we've made in the last two years and it's left us weak. Brands will be every bit as important to us this season as we need him to find us some quality, pace and all at the right price, whilst shipping out a load of our guff for as much as is humanly possible.
 
I hope I am proved wrong, but I think this Silva episode is going to end in tears just like Fat Sam, The Cloggie, Thin Spanish Waiter, Mike Walker ect....
