I think that you'll find that they're the best fans in the world. Just look at some of the tweets constructively criticising Karius. They clearly care more than most. Witness the banners, observe their unique way of welcoming the opposition to their ground.

...old fellas like me will clearly remember Gerry Byrne being a hero for the Reds in the 1965 FA Cup Final. He played almost the whole match with a broken collar bone as the Reds beat Leeds 1-0.

Good friends of mine, longstanding friends, went apoplectic on me last night for some gentle, (though I admit, unrelenting) piss taking. Truly weirded me out.
Guess my judge of character is a bit piss poor. Sod em. Took enough banter over the years, their rank hypocrisy is borderline insanity. They are by every definition, a cult.
