he knows a fair bit about football from 20 years ago maybe but he's a dinosaur when it comes to the modern game. How does he break down and discuss in detail what Pep has instilled into that City side, how does he analyse Liverpool’s attacking talent? He can maybe provide a decent insight into the relegation battle and what the likes of Swansea and Stoke could and should have done better but that's it.
It's going to be another night of his self-promotion and no doubt belittling of Everton Fans (what more do we want) and those fools in the sky studio will lap it up and praise the job he's done simply fueling his ego and playing along with Fat Sam's narrative.
His tone tonight will be interesting. If he's gone and he knows he's gone then presumably the reason the club haven't announced it is because they are still sorting out his package, if that's the case he will only be able to get away with some light trolling. If he's staying, or isn't sure whether he is staying or not he will have to be quite respectful to the club (probably not the fans mind). If he's gone, knows it and the whole deal is agreed he'll probably hang all the dirty linen out. In all scenarios he will clearly tell everyone how great he is.

If we are going down the DoF route, then we need to hire the DoF BEFORE we hire the next manager. It has to be his appointment, otherwise it’s a recipe for more disaster.

Only the inner sanctum know exactly what went on between Koeman & Walsh, but the signings would suggest they both had their own ideas & didn’t gel. Can’t ever imagine a big ego like Koeman answering to anyone, let alone Walsh.

Bringing someone in above people is difficult in any industry. My guess based on Everton showing good business sense (Oh fck!!!!) is we won’t see a new manager before we appoint the DoF. And maybe they’ll even keep Allardyce until the DoF is in. Let him stamp his authority.

We should use the £1.9 million that Spurs won us and deduct that from the total amount that we have to pay them all off to make it seem like great value for money.

how do some of you not understand that the league was absolutely awful this season? we probably would have finished 15th had the clubs outside of the top 6 not been horrendous. 19th in shots, 19th in scoring chances, 17th in possession: these are all numbers under sam. How are those "Alright"? We got melted by any team with even an ounce of quality.
Think the worst one was a team that lost 15 league games finishes 8th

It's a good point, the summer strategy felt scatter gun last year. You can probably add Kenwright in there as an influence, particularly bring back Rooney.

This season needs to be less about statements and more about strategy to support onfield matters.

Could be wrong but i fully expect nothing to happen until the end of the month, wont his contract run till July 1st? or at least until after any competitive games have been played that we might of got into, FA Cup final and Europa (dont laugh haha) but his contract must run at least until those dates?

Sams contract runs to the end of next season. Hence the pay off if he leaves before then.
