Doesn't make any difference how long negotiations went on for or if agreements were made in principal. Allardyce wasn't officially appointed as the Everton Manager until the day after the West Ham as shown in the quoted post below from a few weeks back. We were 13th in the table when he was appointed and he had absolutely nothing to do with the West Ham game other than saying a quick hello to the team and spectating the game next to Kenwright and Moshiri.

I'm not claiming West Ham win as Sam's, it wasn't, I'm saying BEFORE that game - since he was sat watching - everyone knew he was goign to be appointed our manager.

Everyone one knows that Rooney has agreed a deal in principal with DC United but until he actually signs for them, he is nothing to do with them.

Likewise, Allardyce was in talks with Everton for a week or so and was agreeing final terms at finch farm on the 29th November and was appointed on the 30th November and so that is when his tenure starts from, not during the negotiation stage.

We were 13th in the table when he was appointed. It is what it is.

lol clutch away son, clutch.

All I will say is the knives will be out for Silva the minute he walks through the door.
I don't think it will be as quick as that. But, he simply cannot afford to have a poor start or even a mediocre pre season without his appointment being questioned.
Our transfer activity will be scrutinised far more critically this season as well. Last year it was a signing every day or so but this year will be different. I don't see anymore than three or four arriving but they had better look like good signings.

We Beat West Ham because Wayne hates Moyes and was absolutely fantastic in that game and wanted to stick it to Moyes.... nowt to do with Sam

Him and Moyes get on now. Think you are looking for any excuse now to give Sam no credit.

The players more than likely thought " New manager in the crowd, best put a shift in for a change "

With Unsworth at the helm we was in freefall and at the bottom of the form table.

Perhaps we won 4-0 because WHam were very bad at that point hence Moyes' arrival.

Nobody wants to listen Mooms, everybody with a clue can see the difference between Southampton and West Ham.

Everybody wants to assume Unsy suddenly got a clue.

Just let them dream.

Didn’t he win 2, draw 1 and lose 2? Any proof we were bottom of form table as that’s not a particularly bad return tbh. With a goal difference of 0 over that time. Hardly what id call free fall.

Yet it was the only game of the season that Rooney was completely unplayable. He wanted to give it to Moyes and he did.
