ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I'm genuinely fuming, in a terrible mood.

Yes Madrid are better and should win, but so were City.

The luck they get is a joke, the whole city is going to be insufferable for the next 3 weeks and I am going to fall out with so many people.

Someone tell me it's going to be ok.

Mate pretty much every single player in that Madrid side has won this trophy on 2-3 occasions, dealt with the pressure and performed in the biggest games.

Has anyone from the rs team EVER won any final in Europe? More than half are the same ones who absolutely choked second half a couple of years ago against Sevilla though, the pressure on them to perform is gonna be absolutely massive from media fans etc, simply put at least a couple of them will crack under the pressure, saw signs of that last night second half and again have seen it 2 years ago in the EL final.

No-one from Madrid will crack because they have been it and done it all before.

Difference is with City - they have form for constantly under-performing in Europe and no pedigree there, Madrid are an entirely different beast altogether.

Oh throw in the fact Klopp chokes badly in finals - what is it now, 5 or 6 lost in a row, and now he has lost his 'brains' or whatever his assistant manager was called...

Good try mate and I thank you for it, but I still feel sick.

That arrogance comes from every big club which is annoying. But then media loves it and gets lot of hits so why not
No it doesnt. But its more acceptable coming from players who show their arrogance on the pitch... and also their class off it. Alexander-Arnold played Mr Big with that tweet (or whatever it was) mocking us. He saw his arse last night with a shocking performance and one where he shouldve conceded a pen. Pride comes before a fall so ignore their crass remarks (remember McDermott?). And bring it on.

If anything, their form over recent seasons (though more specifically this one) proves that in the modern game you simply need to have a glut of quick, forward-thinking and hard-working players in your side if you want to be successful. You can have the best set of technical footballers in the world on a team.. but they'll soon start feeling restricted if they're put under pressure constantly.

We could invest in one of the best 11s in Europe and we’d be nowhere near the CL final. City did it and have one semi final to show for it. In the last 14 years Arsenal had one final with the invincible team and got outclassed. Chelsea have reached 2 finals despite sustained top investment from Abramovich. Juve have reached 2 despite a monopoly in Italy, PSG none despite massive investment.

Yet Liverpool have made 3 finals in the last 13 years most of the time with a few pub players in their teams.

Tbf, a lot of that is due to the luck they get. You look at the ghost goal that went for them but against Chelsea. Look at all the decisions that went in their favour vs man City.

Look at the way chelsea were treated when they outclassed barca in the semi a few years back, compared to how the RS got a lot of favourable decisions.

This is why I take no interest in the champs league, its based largely on luck rather than who's the best in europe. If it wasn't the case, why are two teams utterly miles off their respective league champions in the final?

The RS roma semi between two teams who have gone about 50 seasons combined without winning their own league and we're supposed to believe they're in the top 4 in Europe ha, the RS aren't even in the top 4 best teams in England.

Will be interesting to see the impact of losing Buvac. Tactically Klopp was just as bad in Rome as the Roma manager was at Anfield. It was one of the most incoherent Liverpool displays I’ve ever seen, it’s their worst beating in a long time. Chelsea will have to go for them at the weekend and we’ll have to see how Klopp prepares without Buvac. If it’s another away hiding then I don my know why they’d be confident that they’ll smash Madrid.

Everything you've said is true but don't be fooled mate into thinking Madrid have this in the bag.. One thing Liverpool have is belief and they will go there believing the trophy is theirs although everyone around them (the media) will have Madrid as strong favourite's. They will be the underdogs and have no pressure on them..

One thing that annoys me is how they manage to get players like Biscan, Smicer, Henderson, Milner and other crap into European finals.

I will be putting a large bet on Liverpool to do it, in the hope of losing a few quid...

Lol the narrative on here about "Lucky Liverpool" is as blinkered as the RAWK fans you mock. Yes, Liverpool have had some luck with decisions against City & last night, but there's no mention of the 2 penalties Roma got awarded which were never penalties in a million years, the blatant push on Mane which could have been a pen in the first half, plus the luckiest own goal you've ever seen which gave the tie a more even complexion. Roma were never in the tie from 5-0 down.

Talk of Everton & Stoke keeping Liverpool quiet is a little misleading, as neither match had a full strength Liverpool side. Look to Man Utd if you want to use that narrative.

Madrid will rightly be favourites for the final, but both teams have strong attacks and suspect defences. The scoreline could pretty much be anything.

Anyways, enjoy the next 3 weeks of media hype of Klopp, Salah & co, chaps.
