Those words from Rooney sound ominous. It's unlikely the owner is going to risk the players downing tools again under a new manager. He's a senior player and the senior players are getting their egos stroked under Allardyce with the likes of Ferguson also being boxed off.

It goes back to what I said a few weeks back:
https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/...they-need-to-go-before-we-can-prosper.103225/ to move this club forward we have to get rid of the clique of snide ageing players who control the dressing room. Baines, Jagielka, Rooney, Williams, Schneiderlin, the soon to return Mirallas and *coaches* like Ferguson, Jeffers etc need sweeping out of the club if we're to build at all.

And these players next season if/when we're struggling under Allardyce will be hiding in the treatment room and avoiding all interviews with the media as they keep their heads down.

Destroy the clique at Everton. That's what we need to see first before we place any building blocks in place.

We are an utter mess: controlled on the pitch by conservative and self-serving forces, and off the pitch by the inept and clueless
What he ment to say? The fact there coming out and backing the manager means he gone

Try being a proper (by proper I mean old enough to attually no what’s going on) fan since 88(born in 81) and seeing 1 trophey In 30 years. We spent enough bloody years standing still, having a glass ceiling, Being “Plucky” it’s time we made a statement that we are no longer here to make up the numbers.

I’ll never ever stop wanting the best for the club, its a big part of my life and I want them to succeed, I want us to win a trophey and go back to where we once where, the fact you don’t is baffling.

This summer is the biggest summer in a long time(we say it every year) there are so many manager out there we could get that the though of Sam staying is horrendous.

How you can joke your be happy if Sam stays just so your proven right is baffling. An you want to write off an entire season cos, well I grew up in the 90s give your head a wobble

lol lol lol you’re a proper fan compared to me because you’re a little bit older?

You’re completely misreading my post but I don’t half enjoy your fume.

We were playing football this time last year and scoring for fun , now that was entertaining, not now mate
People have a go at Koeman about the crap football and the like because they forgot how good we where at home at the end of last season.

The whole Sams done a brilliant jobs a load of rubbish, we finished 7th last years miles ahead of the rest then spent 250 mil, wasted some of it, yet we should be happy to be 8th because you know we where getting relegated in Nov.

This season feels like 2 seasons an makes forget how optimistic we where last year

You said it makes no difference to you whether or not we remain gash. I'm saying it does make a difference to me, and I find it odd that any Everton fan would say they're not really bothered either way whether we improve or not. You might want it to change, but you're evidently not really that fussed if it doesn't. Strange in my opinion, but each to their own.

Of course I want it to change but in my lifetime it never has so what’s the difference? Am I hopeful a new manager will come in and we’ll start achieving? Not after this season, no.

It’s more apathy to our plight after years of baffling decisions at all levels of the club.

Fans are the death of a club. BFS is brought in because clubs are failing. He steadies the ship with the same players that were FAILING & bringing in some he picks up on the cheap and fans expect the team to play like Barcelona on a good day. You all need your heads examining. BFS IF GIVEN TIME AND MONEY will bring in better players so the team can play the "better football". Every team he left (nearly always because of deluded fan power) crashed afterwards because the players under him were in fact OVER PERFORMING and if you think thats bull then I suggest you look at the history.

Pie and chips with a healthy dollop of low salt gravy for tea Sam.

No mate u missed understood my post... I mean proper as in I was born in 81 an obvious an Evertonian and we where winner and winning everything but by the time I actually knew what was going on aka a proper fan, going the game watching us on tv attually caring what was happening.

I wasn’t saying your not a proper fan

Its a massive summer for Moshiri. If he allows this to trundle along and we start next season with just a few players in and out by recycling cash and keep Allardyce and his flunkies in their posts he's done for.

We will know Moshiri true intentions this summer. If its a summer of Allardyce staying, Walsh staying and new CEO hired internally I believe he lacks the ambition to take this club to the next level.

I'd say Martinez and Koeman both turned in more good performances than BFS has.

I'd also say that his chance of making any further progress is minimal.

we didnt win an away game for 4 months under koeman

he was lucky we had Lukaku and Barkley too as a Lukakuless team was highlighted from august to october

I agree . I believed that if he was leaving it would be known by now.
I think he is definitely staying now for next season.
Some fans are unhappy with Sam , but many of those had their minds made up ever before he came and nothing will change them but if a manager was sacked every time a section of the crowd was unhappy then we would have ten managers every season. unless there is outright revolt from the fans I don't think the board will be swayed. A section of the support shouting insults at Sam while winning 2-0 is not going to change their minds.

After the mayhem with Martinez and Koeman I think Moshiri sees Sam as a safe pair of hand who has delivered what was promised. I wonder if Moshiri has ever even considered replacing Sam at all ?
Sam’s best mate is back

I am sure he does as well Tim. Just saying that the poster delivered a post that an owner on the cusp of a stadium move would quite likely agree with.

I have said it many times. Sam has delivered exactly what he was hired for. If he is retained, on the proviso that the ambition is ever so slightly adjusted, ergo, a pot, top 6, better style, and he agrees to that, then I can see Moshiri keeping him.

That said, this Brands bloke coming in muddies the theory somewhat.
If Brands comes in ( and as far as I know that’s not confirmed ) I can’t see Sam and him working together
Sam will want his normal PL proven players while Brands will look to a different strategy for recruitment.
Unless Sam is told that he will no input to transfers and just ask for a CB/LB /CF etc with certain qualities and works with who Brands gives him.
I can’t see Sam accepting this scenario

With the stadium development, which I think will move at a faster pace this year and next, I don't think Moshiri will want to be looking over his own shoulder worrying about what is happening on the pitch i.e a relegation battle. That is why I think Allardyce will see out his contract. Going to the home games has become less and less enjoyable this season, a bit of a chore in fact even with the drive/train there and back. The West Ham game has been the only highlight for me this season. I'm resigned for much of the same next season, if, but I feel when it is confirmed Allardyce is staying.

Think you could be right on this, and just looking at it from Moshiri's perspective and not a supporter's one, it makes sense to an extent.

Finishing 8th-10th this season means that we aren't going to be that attractive a proposition to a manager with prestige. So we will be having to look at lesser managers like Silva who are a risk. Allardyce has come in and got us out of the chaos we were in (whether people want to argue it was 17th or 13th doesn't change the fact that we were conceding a lot of goals, and losing a lot of matches). The players are coming out and backing him, and the results and league position have improved, despite getting off to an awful start under Koeman (not helped by the tough fixture list I accept).

With some better players brought in over the summer, it wouldn't be too far fetched to imagine we could get a top 7/8 finish next season with no Europe to contend with, and hopefully an easier start.

Meanwhile if the Stadium project continues to progress, maybe Moshiri will see 7th-8th as reasonable stability for the time being, and then once the Stadium move is nailed on, he can go for another 'Hollywood' type manager as he puts it. With the new Stadium within 2-3 years at that stage, we would be a far better proposition to a higher level of Manager who may buy in to Moshiri's 'project', especially if told they have a lot of money to spend.

Frustrating in the short term for the fans, but I can see Moshiri potentially seeing it like this. He isn't an Everton fan, so doesn't have the emotion attached like we do and will want stability. Allardyce gives that, albeit an underwhelming stability.
