When Unsworth took over we were 18th.

When Allardyce took over we were 4 points clear of 18th.

After £50m spent we are 7 points clear of 18th.

Unsy gained us 4 points over the bottom 3 (in 7 games), Allardyce 3 over the bottom 3(in 14 games).

Yet one will get painted as out of his depth and the other as the man who saved our season.
Unsy saved our season. Big Scam was out of his depth. Don't let anyone say different. Rhino is a true servant to the club and deserves to be lauded by Evertonians for doing a difficult job without the complete backing of being the permanent manager. Big Scam has reaped the benefits of Rhino's work, and claimed credit where none was due.

At least Teds over 70's team played decent togger

That picture sums up an Everton vs Sunderland game.

Both clubs having been Big Scammed.

Unsworth was actually 5 games rather than 7.

I know it is the rule to dismiss everything that Allardyce says and does, but sometimes what he says although unpopular, i.e. we don't want to hear it, rings true. EFC success and Everton style is a distant memory, as it is for the other two clubs he mentioned, although theirs was far less success and far longer ago. As fans we have never lost our ego and belief we are a big club. Nobody else thinks we are a big club, as becomes obvious when you talk to fans of other clubs. That has been the case for years. What makes it far worse is we live in a city where the other team, although also unsuccessful for years, still believe they are a top club with world wide support based on a glorious period of European success. The media rave about them. They never drift far from the top and always believe next year will be the one. We have reached a playing level where Bournemouth and Watford and West Ham are our equals. We might struggle to beat Brighton next week. Allardyce says it as it is, he is managing a struggling unsuccessful club (again). The fans have never accepted the fact of our fall in terms of footballing status, and demand entertaining football. Poor recruitment has produced a squad of players without the flair and ability to entertain. He is definitely not the man to lead an Everton revival. We have the money but no leader.

But what we want is someone to give us hope. Someone with the belief that our previous status and success might eventually be restored. A manager who doesn't accept the status quo as a given and who has a go. Not some fat oaf who does little more than trouser his weekly wad and shrug the shoulders of his ill-fitting suit.

Put up the figures that the owners have backed their managers since Moshiri came in as well for comic value comparing the three clubs at the same level of ambition...

Very roughly we've spent over double both NUFC and WHU have. Net spend (again very rough) EFC +43m WHU +27m NUFC -20m

With all due respect that is nonsense, I think even David Unsworth would tell you so.
We are limping to safety under Sam, I think we may have been relegated under David Unsworth.

What if it’s true though? The appointment of Allardyce shows exactly what Moshiri’s expectations are. No one at Everton seems to care about fan expectations.

I'm still not 100% convinced on Moshiri yet mate, but I suppose we'll see what his expectations are at the end of the season because, even if we finish 7th under Allardyce, he still should be volleyed out the door. If he is still here for next season, then serious questions need to be asked of Moshiri.

lol. Didn't feel like it walking away from St Mary's after getting destroyed by a team who are now deep in relegation trouble themselves and didn't win a single league game in 2 months after sweeping us aside.

Wow, that Burnley bit really annoyed me.

Pundits saying Burnley are having a brill season and yet we can draw level on points if we beat them as if that makes this season good. Expectations are miles lower at Burnley than here!
Are you honestly shocked that we have higher expectations than Burnley Nym?

They are having a very good season, not so great recently but it is brilliant for them to be in 7th. There is nothing worth praising about our league performance so I don't see why you're taking an issue there.

We should expect to outperform Burnley. Obviously if they're outperforming us, or even close, we have had a crap season and them a good one.

Can’t stand the bloke

Was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but the stuff he has come out and said

An absolute disgrace

Wow the quotes out of this presser are something else. The Fat Mess is going to throw one hell of a wobbler when we finally boot him.

The state of him trying to blame our poor away form in Martinez and Koeman's ffs.

Should Koeman not be blamed? Koeman's away record was an absolute disgrace.

As is Allardyce's now.

I think the last couple of games under Unsworth showed the turnaround had begun. Big Scam took the credit. Mind you in retrospect it might just have been dead cat bounce and we could't drop any further.
