Good win and much welcome 3 points. I see the team was exactly as I predicted in my earlier post. Looks like Jags had a good do at RB is that correct anyone and a better looking midfield.

Anyone want to buy a redundant RB and Midfielder who looks horse faced.

how proud of this win should we be? I think it shows some progress, first because we kept a clean sheet, and secondly because we won on the road despite playing a game midweek. also, a club plagued with a lack of depth for so long was able to maintain a clean sheet even with 2 suspended defenders. The point that kills my excitement: we beat derby. At the beginning of the season, when many people including myself had tipped us to challenge for a top 4 spot, we would have expected to finish off relegation zone teams with no trouble. In watching this games domination though, we seemed to simply capitalize on their mistakes rather than create any magic on our own. likewise, our team gave derby opportunities through defensive errors that they weren't able to take advantage of, but that any top half team would have punished us for. we worked the ball around well, and both goals came from good through balls, but tougher opposition won't allow that many holes in their defence so we can't bank on that being our goal scoring strategy. part of the reason we didn't have much of a box play presence was we had lescott playing out of the centre, but i'd expect us to do better with crosses after timmy's return. still, perhaps the blues only worked as hard as they needed too, and when we start facing tougher opposition we'll step up our gameplay.
