Niasse is clearly an unsettling presence for defences as well, makes them more vulnerable. Tosun looks a bit conventional to me

Yeah he is a useful player. Must be a nightmare to play against and I think he had a mare in front of goal last night rather than it being a trait of his, usually he is pretty lethal when a chance comes his way.

He offers us movement too, we always look much more of a threat when he plays as he gives the opponents something to think about. He makes some really good runs too.

Hard to say with Tosun as I have genuinely not seen enough of him. I do get fans being worried that he could be another big money signing who just fades into the background but it could also be a case of working him in gently as we are kind of in a position to do so now.

Worth pointing out it was also a horrendous night last night weather wise with mistakes being made all over the place, swirling winds, rain battering down etc so a chaotic player like Niasse was perfect for a game like that.

Some people will only see the chances missed, personally I thought he played well and enabled us to play more expansively.

regardless of how oumar plays he guarantees we play ten yards further up the pitch, constantly harasses the back line and forces mistakes

Think if Rooney hadnt decided he needed to make things interesting Tosun would of got on for Niasse earlier. When that pen went in you could see plans change rapidly.

I think BFS likes Niasse now. Claiming he could have had an hat trick shows a degree of confidence in his ability.

It's not often you see Everton penned the opposition in their half for long periods this season. The pace of Niasse and Walcott is a serious threat to defenders and hence they play deeper accordingly. Only one shot on target on Everton's goal. I'd also say Niasse was more tightly marked allowing more space for Walcott to exploit. Yes, Niasse should have bagged goals but his presence allows other to play and take pressure off our back four.

The Niasse haters have to get used to the idea that he's now a regular starter.

I am definitely not a Niasse hater, but I'm quite sure that if Tosun had played yesterday then our victory would have been more convincing.

However, I am too happy about the result to complain too much about squad selection. :)

Only my opinion, but I think he will rotate Niasse and Tosun, depending on the opposition.

Both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Is that too sensible ?
Sensible is an anathema on this forum.Just hate every new player whether you've seen him play or not.
