Usmanov

Does it make sense for him to sell up in Arsenal? If he's the puppet master he essentially owns 30% of Arsenal and soon to be 75%+ stake in Everton in a new shiny stadium via Moshiri.

He can't have a foot in both camps.
To get involved in Everton he would have to relinquish all interests in Arsenal.

Aye but if all the rumours are true and Moshiri is/has always been a puppet of Usmanov then why would Usmanov want to sell up at Arsenal when he technically already owns us in a de facto manner?

I believe he is and always has been the man behind Moshiri and doesnt need to officially buy into us he can simply stay behind the curtains.

I think theirs more chance of him buying a club outside of us if he sold up at Arsenal as he would have potentially 2 clubs in the richest league in the world under his USM empire.

If this comes off then it’s fair to say, so will I.

It would be amazing but it’s just not everton to have such fortune.

The only thing that makes me think it might be true is how casual and self assured Moshiri is about money being almost no object.

I have no idea if this will happen, but it should not be dismissed as impossible.
There are a lot of very good reasons why it may happen.

There is a lot of money to be made in the next number of years when you look at the developments that are proposed for the city. I think the Usmanov/Moshiri partnership would have an interest in this.

There is a long standing history of Usmanov and Moshiri working together on projects.

We know that one of his companies is already providing sponsorship to us.

Usmanov is snookered at Arsenal, does not have any influence and it would seem this is unlikely to change. We know that he could sell his shares to Kroenke in the morning if he wished and there probably are other buyers out there as well.

We know that Moshiri owns just under 50% of the club and we know the remaining shareholding can be bought after certain markers have been reached.

Practically unlimited sources of funds would help explain how we have so casually undertaken the hugely expensive sacking of two managers and the management team around them and at the same time spending huge amounts on player transfers.

Man Utd would of course be worried if another "big beast" appeared in the North West. City have certainly stolen some of the glory and a lot of the limelight from them, if there was yet another club rivalling both City and Utd for spending power and world wide profile then that would not be goods news. This would be true of any club and not just Everton.

This is not to suggest that it will happen , but to suggest it makes no sense and couldn't happen isn't true either.

Usmanov could sell his Arsenal shares and buy all but three or four clubs in the premiership if he wished, but very few of the others have the links direct and indirect that he has with Everton

So , if I’ve got this right, a mega rich billionaire with a dodgy sounding foreign name is going to invest in the club , plough in his own money and before we know it we’ll be playing in the Champions League. In the words of Jimmy Ruffin from the ‘60s “ I’ve passed this way before .....”

Before Christmas he said we had interest in 3 players. Tosun, Walcott and Shaw. So in fairness he knows some thing

He said our number one target was a Besiktas striker days before it hit the papers. Then he posted that there was a snag in the deal before Joyce, McNulty and Hunter all reported the hitch.

Oh and the team news/injuries etc. He's been spot on but getting wind of a signing and knowing whats going on at board level are two totally different things.

Hopefully he's right though.
