Between Walsh, Kenwright & whoever else is involved in closing deals, this Tosun business has to be the final straw!

WTF were these clowns doing for the last few months? How was that deal not tied up weeks ago, ready for rubber stamping yesterday???

Moshiri has come in & put money on the table. Ever since then, the club squandered an eye watering amount on vastly overpriced journeymen & now this!

TBH, I suspect the main culprit is Kenwright/Elstone, because of the way we got humped by Koeman & Southampton. The Bolasie & Sigurdsson deals had the same hallmarks. I don’t believe Walsh is anything more than a head scout, DoF in title only.

Moshiri either needs to replace these clowns with professionals ASAP, or see more of his millions get squandered on dross.

God knows why but what's worse is entirely expected.

Exactly there Friend, I have been saying we know nothing of what is actually going on behind the doors but what we can see is poor.

Are you on Walsh's payroll. Every time I say something critical of him you pipe up.

The funny thing is now it looks like that's exactly what they are doing.

The man is being treated like a fool. Awful appointment and totally out of his depth.
u are an awful poster and out of your depth for the 5th account on here and it will be i who drags u to the light once more slimeball.

Well said sir.

Walsh appears to have escaped unscathed from the Koeman fiasco...a man with 35yrs in football achieving absolutely nothing until he touched lucky for one season at Leicester...and for that one spin of the wheel we pay him a fortune and give him a place on the board..bizzare!!!

I think a new manager coming in and wanting to fully assess the squad plus have a say in the targets is probably a rather large part in it...

And by the accounts of Hunter and Joyce, we moved back for Giroud in November. He didn't want to come.

So December has been about enquiries (Aubameyang, pointlessly) and such. The first rumblings of a bid for Tosun came around the 20th of December.

All being well, it should be wrapped up today. It would have been rubber stamped tomorrow (hence Walsh's trip to Turkey last week), but Besiktas upped their asking price over the weekend.

That's why their president is now getting involved as we want to make sure this deal goes through and they aren't pulling any tricks.

We're literally doing just what you asked. What difference does it make if he'd signed yesterday as opposed to getting it done today? Which, as I said, is only a result of Besiktas messing us around.

The key is how we react to this deal.

If it goes well, great. Get him in. I don't see the point in rushing him in to the team for the derby anyway, it won't make a difference. Rather him be given a proper time to settle in and get accustomed to the league, and then we might see what he can deliver, rather than get the Sandro/Klaassen scenario. Get him in, get him settled, but straight away be moving on to the next position of priority.

If it does go south, we need to have 2-3 targets already lined up and ready to go. If that isn't the case we truly will know massive changes are needed.

We already know massive changes are needed mate, competent people don't do what happened last summer.

Also competent recruitment departments can handle multiple simultaneous negotiations, we can barely handle one at a time. You have any belief that until this deal is sorted we will be putting any other deal on hold, we need a left back urgently, will guarantee nothing will happen till we sort this first.

It's incompetence personified.

I doubt it very much that it will be Moshiri's money that would be getting squandered on transfers, because he won't be paying for any players out of his own arse pocket.

Quite simply he is not a director of football. We need to appoint a real one and have the scouting operation report into them which is alluded to in the following link
https://amp.theguardian.com/footbal...-recruitment-expert?__twitter_impression=true
We need a top down review

Speak plainly mate, what we need is not a review, it's a absolute clear out of all involved in player recruitment and negotiations and a new chairman, CEO,, director of football/sporting director, and new manager who aren't tainted, incompetent, or driven by a self serving agenda.

Until that happens, nothing will change, and we will moan about a glass ceiling, which is in reality one built by ourselves.
