Im reading a Rangers book at the moment. It was published before they went into meltdown. But the author is of the opinion that Rangers have always been treated differently to Celtic. That Celtic can get away with things while Rangers get hung out to dry for everything and anything.Rangers were not founded as a sectarian institution. They were founded by 4 young lads who wanted to start up a football team.Rangers were founded for the need for fun and recreation.Rangers actually did have a player who was catholic whose parents were from southern Ireland. This was in the pre world war 1 era though.Rangers were the first club in Glasgow. They only assumed a protestant/unionist identity in response to Celtics catholic/republican identity. In other words what im trying to say is that circumstances dictated the identity that Rangers would later assume. But they were a club that was founded purely for footballing reasons.

Morton 1 v 1 Dumbarton

Never really turned up for the first half and deservedly went in 0-1 at the break. Whatever Jim Duffy said at half time clearly worked as we were the dominant team second half and when Bob McHugh scored, it seemed like we would go on to win the game. However, a couple of good saves from their keeper and misfiring on a couple of occasions meant that we would only take a point from the game.

Ton, is there any chance of a full match report on this game to save this thread from getting completely clogged up with paranoid sectarian propaganda from one side of the old firm.

Just seen a couple of videos of the hibs fans singing sunshine on leith after the match yesteray, it makes your hairs stand up.

Best Anthem in football
I'm going to be miserablist and say I am pretty bored with the song. I can't deny it's a grand sight when all the fans are up and singing but I'm not a big Proclaimers fan. I like Glory, Glory To The Hibees better.
