True but based on the article it makes out the reason why we brought Koeman in was to bring a strict regime after Martinez's "nice" environment.

Also, it tells me that the board thought that Koeman's methods would be the best way to challenge and trust him with a lot of funds.

Think what we have to do is what City realised after they got rid of Hughes...get a proven named manager.

Problem we have is we are not able to attract a consistent trophy winning manager. It means we try our arm in the likes of RM &RK, but for some reason we give this fella a kings ransom for wages and signings...

I agree over the win, but a good performance and a defeat will also be good. I firmly believe it is not just the defeats that are the single problem, the actual performances are embarrassing. Against Lyon we tried and worked hard, which is a start.

Yes mate I totally agree. There were actually some good moments in the Lyon game, the 2nd half was much better and the crowd responded to that. Like you say, the performances have been absolutely abysmal and far too many players have hidden and walked off the pitch without breaking into a sweat.

Also like you said, if he picks tje type of side we are all hoping for, he would be given a lot more leeway. Going to be very interesting come 12.30pm to see who has been given the nod

Another zinger against Koeman today.

Ferguson seems to be very involved in the coaching, as you'd expect, but I'm surprised about Ron. I thought he'd be more hands on. I don't know how involved Bob was in comparison, anyone know?

How about Unsworth with arteta as assistant manager?

Arteta is certainly really highly regarded by all accounts and it'd give him a next step up from city importance wise...

I thought this with Arteta, he's very highly rated. I imagine Joe Royle would be involved in an informal setting, and John Ebbrell would step up witH Unsworth as a loyal leftenent. The left field fella I'd like to see would be Lee Carsley coming to get involved as well.

I love Duncan but I wonder if his development as a coach is being stunted by just being a first team could. I think he'd a great successor to taking the under 23's.

Loved Dunc as a player, but honestly mate, the love in about him is based entirely on him as a player rather than any semblance of knowledge about him as a coach, my worry is he's been part of two absolutely shocking managerial teams back to back now.

He's either just a show pony for the fans in coaching terms - in which case you have to wonder why he's stuck it out in that position, or he's actively involved in the coaching and has put up with both these last two managers methods - in which case you have to wonder why yet again.

Ferguson in many ways represents a lot of what is wrong with us as a club - hero worshipping a player based on very little achievement and more based on him being a right [Poor language removed] on the pitch (but a true blue one)
