As well as that the whole fanbases of those clubs would be looking for blood as well.Sadly we have a lot of happy clappers amongst our support, who are happy enough to put up with and placidly accept second rate performances and mediocrity.

They are not really our competitors, though. It kills me to say this but since we last won a trophy the RS have won the Europa League, three League Cups, two FA Cups and a European Cup/Champions League.

I understand where you're coming from, though: to get to their level we need to be more ruthless.

The honest answer is that the blame rests with the manager. The players are frustrated, they don’t like losing, the manager and his brother have no inspiration - van Gall mark two. There’s no leadership or emotion from the touch line, none in the dressing room and none of the pitch. Good money was paid for other clubs ok players but no world beaters and a group of young future talent but no flagship signing! Now everyone at the club including the manager is frustrated and getting more and more so. The supporters have lost patience this is not Southampton this is EVERTON a proud club with the record for being the longest top flight club in England. Don’t let this Dutch journeyman destroy it - part Company and let the fire and passion of Unsworth have a shot, if we go down st least we’ll fight not like the Dutchman iceman’s passionless, feeble roll overs. Yes Williams is guilt of gross misconduct but the mitigating circumstance all revolve around Koeman. He’s not the man for Everton anymore than Martinez was.

In fairness, if plenty of fans think he can turn it around because he has had these ups and downs with Southampton then I don't think it's so outlandish or disgraceful that the board are fully behind waiting it out. I certainly think he will sort it more or less, if he gets the season, even if I want him out just for being mediocre.

The problem is ambition. If we were ambitious we wouldn't have hired this guy in the first place. If we were ambitiously looking to emulate and better the clubs above us then we wouldnt be letting a manager such as this ride out such a crap run and what looks like a general disorganised mess. We would act and have a proper replacement ready to go.

The club want to be there if one of the top 6 suddenly collapse, but there is no ambition to actively break into the top 6. And actually, that is understandable. The top 6 are long gone, they are away over the hill.
If we signed 20 more players on 100k a week then our wage bill would still be less than Arsenal, who are the club out of the 6 we are perhaps closest to at the moment.

Everton want to be 'best of the rest' and take advantage of any car crash seasons from the real big boys. That is the strategy, if not the message.
Koeman has shown he can deliver it.

Just had a watch of the above, seems like Kendall was in the same boat that Koeman is in now, right down to the boos at Goodison.

Personally, I would have sacked him, but he is still here and now has the chance over the next two games to get something going.

Arsenal are not the strongest away from home and are beatable. Conte is saying Chelsea's schedule is impossible, suggesting to me that we could well see Chelsea put a reserve team out against us.

He has to win both of these games now.

Plus don't forget Azza that Leicester will have a new manager so that will give them a buzz so that's an expected loss and then Watford will be an expected loss as they are in the top 8 and we can put the defeat to Palace down to an expected loss as it lands on Roy Hodgsons birthday.

Tomorrow will be the biggest indicator of his future thus far.
Despite the ,understandable, opprobrium that has flowed his way since Thursday's defeat, I for one saw green shoots of revival. We played far better than previously, and I think we were unlucky to come away with nothing. Small steps, but if we continue to improve I think he will retain the boards support and stay ahead (just) of the ravening mob currently pursuing him. I wouldn't be surprised to see hunt saboteurs at the match tomorrow.
