Half? Probbaly more than 75% for the usual first 11.Correct. That sometimes happens when a new manager comes in with new ideas, but he’s signed half this squad. He can’t even motivate players he's brought in himself!!!

No we didn't mate. Do you not remember half the games from the Martinez era, games like Arsenal 0-2 where we couldn't string two passes together, United at home when we got battered, the 0-0 Derby at Goodison when we were terrified of crossing the half way line. Absolute revisionism to say we "always" played football.
I will never ever forgot that Sunderland away.
This is nowhere near that bad.

Really?
I would say Atalanta was just as bad
Southampton away? Didn't even make a sub. Newcastle away? Baines in midfield and 1-0 up then got battered by the worst side in the league.
Martinez produced good football for 3/4 of a season, the rest of it was up there with the worst in our prem history and Koeman is currently at that level too.
You'll still get fans coming out though telling you that Moyes' teams of Arteta Pienaar Cahill Baines finishing 5th were long ball hoof merchants. Crazy.
So we disagree. Martinez didn’t miss the penalty v West Ham that would have sealed the win or the one at Wembley v ManU. Or give that atrocious call v Man City that knocked us out. He did pick Tim Howard, so he’s to blame for that.
Anyway, if you think it was a bad then as it is now, you’re we’ll just have to disagree.

I think this too. That was the worst performance I've ever witnessed in the flesh, plenty of games in the Martinez era could rival it, but that one just about ranks at the very top.
Harsh to not praise Atalanta as well mind; thought they were terrific.

I don't think they got out of second gear, it was the easiest victory they'll ever have. They would have been destroyed by a City or United.
fine, I wasn't trying to make that point, theres a much bigger picture, and having that fat self serving liar kenwright still involved does not speak well for that picture, no matter what the clappers sayNot convinced the mangers lack of any idea how to set up a team, and teams sudden inability to play football is Kenwright's fault tbh
I think to say majority of his tenure is a tad harsh, but this is a little true. Martinez exercised the worst aspects of the tiki-taka with ponderous ineffective football. Were it not for our defensive collapses though, we would have probably ended considerably higher up the table in both of the latter seasons. We would dominate some games (or make miraculous comebacks) and concede the lead a few minutes later. You're saying we "always played football" under Martinez but we didn't, in fact the majority of his tenure was energy-sapping, dull, lifeless dross. I could reel off a list of 20 more games on top of the ones I just mentioned that were the same. The City away game you're referring to, we went out when he replaced Deulofeu with Kone when we were 3-2 up on aggregate and lost our only bit of pace on the break.
