Ronald Koeman discussion

This isn't our first shocking game though? When do games at home to Burnley or away to a shocking Brighton start being the chances he gets? I don't like hiring and firing often but I think we can waste too much time and too many important games waiting for miracles.

We need to learn from keeping hold of Martinez for too long.

We kept hold of Martinez only a few games too long imo, but crucially one was the SF against United. After that the season was over. Even if this month goes completely south, we'll still have a chance in Europe, over half a season to get back up the table and the FA Cup in Jan.

It's just not time, yet.... and hopefully that time won't have to come.

Few games too long for Martinez got us out of 2 cups.

Few more games for Koeman here and we're out of Europe and the League Cup.

How can you say they're different scenarios when they're completely the same?

Bit in bold is completely 100% wrong.

Look you know when he selects the team it's going to be dross - sack him now install Unsworth and look for a manager!

You could very well be right, Joey. My gut tells me you probably are, but just think we've got to wait until the end of the month to be certain or to hopefully see an upturn.

Far, far worse than anything Martinez served up so far.

Taking our European results into account as well, this has been an appalling start. This season he really had to at least trouble the top 6 and with the number of points dropped and the confirmed lack of a striker until January, it's pretty unlikely he'll achieve that.

All that said, there seems to be little consideration given on here to the fact that any new manager coming in will also have to deal with the shocking lack of pace and strikers at the club too and I've noticed there are absolutely no decent ideas on here between hundreds of posters on how Koeman should deal with that issue. I don't think the whole problem would necessarily take a genius to fix, just a lot of money.

There's a debate to be had on how great the benefits to sacking him would be, but I believe it's necessary more for the statement it woud make. I think desperately hoping he'll turn things around would suggest Moshiri isn't enormously confident in his ability to take matters into his own hands. I'd have a little more faith that he's serious about his vision for the club if he was to sack him now.

True but Unsy would do four things play Davies, play Lookman, play Kenny probably play to DCL's strengths. Then Bolasie and Coleman will be back. We can't let this drag on or it could get much worse.

It'll be unlikely, but even if we lose to Lyon we'll still have 9 points to play for. 10 points typically sees you through a group. So we won't necessarily be out. The League Cup game is away to Chelsea, not saying it's an "expected loss" but a big ask nonetheless. And unlike the Martinez scenario, the season won't be over even if we are out of those two cups. That's the difference, mate.

If he continues the way the team is playing he won't last that long.

Mirallas and Niasse were on suddenly we looked like we can attack.

If we have no presence and pace up front we won't win. Can't he see there is a lack of movement in our front line for 70 mins?
