Ronald Koeman discussion

Spurs have had a combination of brilliant business and luck. Harry Kane learning how to be a top draw forward transformed them. Anyone who watched him in that infamous under 17 international tournament a few years back would've said he'd be selling the Big Issue by now.

You can't fault how astute they've been in the transfer market as well, but there was a time when they spent the Bale money in one go and really struggled. Ring any bells?
The way Kane's banging them in he will be off to Real Madrid sooner or laters then they will struggle to find a replacement.

I can understand that, definitely.
And I'm not asking you to be one of the other bells who think because they caught 4 mins of Lazio v Sampdoria and play loads of FM so you're practically a "scout" of world football, but who shouts out at you as an appointment worthy of the description ambition?
Because honestly, I find the Ancelotti shouts severe grade delusion.

I don't know. I like Quique Setien at Betis but have zero idea how he would do in the Prem League or if he speaks any English.

I don't demand that they get it right as if it's an exact science. It's not. We have had a few managers since 95 and none of them have won anything. For all I know the next ten managers might not win anything.

At this point I just prefer they went for somebody who you can actually believe might get us somewhere beyond our trophyless best of the rest status even if ultimately they fail. In my opinion they went for somebody who would just maintain that status and that was almost a guarantee of achieving no more than that.

The two centre mids is a big problem. I'm not a fan of them playing together either. What I'd give for Arteta of 8 years ago to be back here...
Davies is our best hope at the moment next to Gueye. Davies does have that attacking instinct what Snides hasn't got and Gueye better than Snides at breaking up attacks.

I was really uninspired by the Koeman appointment at the time but I'm pretty uninspired by the club overall. There's always a caveat with Everton. Yeah, we spent all that money in the summer but we lost our only world class player and didn't even buy a striker to replace him. It's just par for course with us.

Everton being Everton

They utterly bore me right now. No worry or anger, just bored. Stick or twist with Koeman we aren't getting relegated and are likely to finish top 10 so freaking out over a crap run is pointless.

I just want a more positive overall picture at the club. Something to really get behind. And I think that unfortunately has to start with ditching the manager.

I'd let him get with it for now, until the end of the season... Unless we're still in this position around Christmas.

If we're getting rid of Koeman then there needs to be guarantees from the board that they're going to invest. Knowing our luck we'd end up with Unsworth in charge and £20m to spend. Who knows, maybe he'd be a revelation. Not convinced myself.

I didn't want Koeman here in the first place, but my thinking was as he was a top draw player in Europe he would convince top players to come and the top players to stay, he has basically failed in all them tasks. It just proves being a big name player doesn't make you a good manager, I've never forgiven him for that foul on Platt in the early 90s WCQ.

Unsworth wouldn't need 20 million he would just bring his youngsters through turn them in to players like Fergie did with his kids and win the lot. Only joking but wouldn't it be refreshing to have 4/5 home grown players as regulars performing well with an ex Everton player as manager.
