Usmanov

This was always a possibility and I remember disagreeing with Esk over it when he said it simply wasn't.

For Kroenke to have made an offer he must be wary of Usmanov potentially selling to a 3rd party which would mean he's been actively seeking to shift his stake. Once he's offloaded it I think it'd be a racing certainty that he'd join his mate here.

Common sense (and that's all I'm going off not any inside info) suggests that there's a good chance Usmanov will come. It would be consistent with how business works.

You have two very close businessmen. One is one of the wealthiest men in the world. One is a multi billionaire but less wealthy, though has a multitude of contacts and a clean face to move things forward on infrastructure projects.

It's difficult for both to leave their current business in one go. There is clearly a staged process with the new business. Lots of processes need to be undertaken to unlock value, specifically infastructure and location. It may well be those selling shares in the club will also only sell on a phased basis as a stipulation. They may even believe they can sell 49% and keep their shares over a longer period and benefit from the investment. There may be a conflict when more control is desired.

The club now needs more investment. More expertise. The first hurdles are cleared and I can't imagine Moshiri will want to be pumping much more of his own money in. In terms of transfers the investment in younger players should start to pay for itself but we will need additional funds.

At the point of investment now it is a more strategically viable business. If we get concrete plans for the stadium to go ahead that will be even more so. I don't doubt it will be in part tied to a wider regeneration of the area. With the financial districts moving be out of London there are opportunities to build enclaves in bigger cities. Substantial investment in property's in the area of the new ground may follow.

The City of Liverpool and Everton fc look a good investment. The weakening pound will attract more tourist investment and many come to visit Liverpool.

Its more likely than it was yesterday.

Currently there are 3 outcomes, Usmanov will sell and join us or he will sell and wont join us or he wont sell.

33% chance of it happening.
This is awesome news! It also means there are 2 outcomes if I buy a Euromillions ticket - either I win or I don't win. 50% chance of winning the Euromillions - whoo-hoo!!!

I think Esk passed on the information he was given. The official sauces for both Moshiri and Unsmanov have been clear in playing it down.

There is however a multitude of reasons why both would. The EPL, UEFA, FIFA, maximising value for Arsenal Shares, getting agreement with LCC for the stadium, maybe keeping Bill happy are some of them.

It would make perfect sense for him to come. He desires a football club to exert control of. A top football club. One he can make a return on investment.

Everton can be that club but need investment. It might not happen but the situation is forever changing.

its definatly a fluid situation, what with the SPV and all the potential money to be made or not be made around Liverpool waters..

Probably just a coincidence but Peel keep pushing back the release of their latest "Liverpool Waters" website , was due out in August then they said September and still no sign.
It is meant to include designs and renders for the Central Docks area , opposite the Titanic Hotel and next to Bramley Moore dock.

In effect Moshiri as Usmanov's right hand man has access to the same financial avenues as his boss. In fact the sleight of hand that has allowed him to become involved in Everton whilst Usmanov remains a major Arsenal shareholder, has allowed the introduction of USM funds via Finch farm sponsorship. This may not have been possible had Usmanov been our owner.
FPP regulations obviously restrict the amount of money an owner can introduce however wealthy he is.

I just can't get my head round why anyone, with any certainty, could say he's categorically not going to invest in Everton, unless it came directly from Usmanov himself. I'm pretty certain nobody saw Moshiri coming...
It's one of those ITK stories that you've got a 50/50 chance of getting right.
Do I think he'll come? Haven't got a clue, but stranger things have happened.

Esk came to his own conclusion and made it sound like definitive fact. I don't think anyone barring Moshiri and Usmanov knows or knew their true intentions and still don't. It's summation and guesswork on both sides of that argument, time will tell.

I think kenwright etc will know aswel imo. And i think he is coming to everton soon, otherwise if moshiri was doing it alone I think Kenwright will be a lot more public in coming out and praising him (more than he already has done)

No suprises here. This was always happening. When is the only issue ... USM FINCH FARM ... no reason at all to do this other than pave the way to becoming involved with the club. Moshri came to make sure all was good and that the long term plan would succeed . We will be Man City rich very soon. Watch this space !

I am not sure he spoke as fact mate, he just spoke with greater confidence and has a strong opinion on this subject. I'm sure he'd been told that Usmanov had no interest. It wouldn't surprise me if publicly he maintained this position, as there are reasons for him to need too. I take a different interpretation though.
