Summer Transfer Window 2017

Think he'll be off to Spurs in Jan for much less than £35m.
Moshiri didn't sound like he was going to be made welcome back with open arms.
Also, with Barkley being out injured for a while, it makes no odds to him whether he's getting treatment in Liverpool or London for the next couple of months.

So - net-spenders - what's our total net spend for the window? How much has Moshiri defrauded us of? I'm assuming we're massively in the black and he's riding off into the sunset in a car made entirely from cashed in pound coins from the sale of Lukaku?

Nothing has changed. All we have to show for this window is 9 new first team players - including England's future long-term keeper and centre back, and the greatest goalscorer Man Utd and England have ever had. Oh, and an over-priced "playmaker" who only ever scores or assists from dead balls - apart from when he's flukily slotting from 50 yards.

Stupid Everton. We're going down. Sack the board etc etc etc

If we signed Sandro for 30 mill on deadline day, we all would have been happy.

Arsed let's go with him and DCL.

Thus stars are born.
Mhmm not for me mate, it's not the price it's literally the fact we don't have a senior experienced striker in the squad who can hold the ball up and do the things the team really needs.

I'm just happy reality has set in. At least we know where we stand. Let's face it, as soon as Martina was first mentioned it was obvious the transfer budget wasn't getting us challenging for top 4. So be it but why all the BS along the way. W@nkers.

Ronald Koeman on the 16th August:

We still need to sign a striker,” the Everton manager said. “Everybody knows that we lost Romelu Lukaku. We brought in Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramírez and now Gylfi, and maybe they can share the goals around more than happened last season, but we still need another one to play the No9. When you play in Europe, and let’s hope we reach Europe, and in the Premier League you cannot do it with just one or two strikers.

The board has failed to do this. How anybody could dress this up as anything other than a very disappointing end to what could have been a positive summer is beyond me.

As ever with Everton, it's two steps forward, one step back.
Just about sums it up. Good post.

Calvert-Lewin will get a lot of game time between now and January then. It sounded like Moshiri was trying to gloss over the failure to get a striker in, perhaps we were banking on the 35 mill for Barkley to finance a deal, for a striker, who knows. To be perfectly honest I am more concerned by our lack of left sided defenders.
I was assuming we'd get Batshuayi if Barkley signed. Not gonna happen now of course.

Funny thing is lots and lots of these anti Ross comments where being said by Blues when Speed left as well, the club has a very nice way of painting players as the bad guy.

1 fact that cannot be argue with, the club wanted to sell Barkley today, Barkley pulled the plug at the last minute, yet people are assuming instantly it's down to wanting to go on a free, why on earth would he go through the trip south and all that, he could easily have just told Chelsea not interested through his agent or to wait till January.

Barkley not sold = no striker signed, big shock
