What makes you think it's just the clubs that wait...players do as well, just to put clubs under pressure to lay down high wages to push things through at the last minute. It's a vicious cycle.

As that does seem like a joke, I actually wouldn't be opposed to trying to play him as a 9. His best attribute is shielding the ball and absorbing the pressure and settling our attack. If we don't get a striker I wouldn't be opposed to putting him up top as our outlet.

He'd be caught off side all the time as he switches off when the balls not in his area of play

We have been shopping now for 2 years. Or we should have been. Do we want to wait years while all the other players will be off. Who can we get next year when we finish mid table in may?????? Lukaku and barkley are off i believe because a failure of adding quality last summer. They dont believe in the project. We bought valentia in on loan ffs. Deals could have been made when selling lukaku. We need a top forward and all other signing will be wasted otherwise.
